Tried just pushing in screw driver in slot where door latch would go, but catch does not do anything ? does not move at all ??!

  • vinayN May 31, 2009

Sorry in the subject i meant working, not corking !!

    Hi again,

    Still same problem.

I am not sure what PAM is ? is 3-in-1 household oil any good ? or WD40 ?!

As i said i can't push door in for last centimetre, door catch is stuck in the position it's in.

I found i can still use the dishwasher though ? so i assume the catch is stuck in locked position !?

Also i found i can not get the inside of the door off, it has special screws, a star shape head? and i do not have the right tool to unscrew them.

    Any other suggestions please ?

More comments/help via email would be welcome please, i am on vinayibm@yahoo.com !

    Thanks !

Look carefully at the catch and the latch as almost all can be adjusted with just a screw driver.

The catch may just need a little lubrication. If you have some PAM or similar cooking spray, give it a couple squirts and then open and close the door a few times.

  • Joe Hogan Jun 01, 2009

Hi again. PAM is a brand of cooking spray and since it is used with food, it is safe to use to lube your dishwasher whereas WD40 and 3N1 are not safe for this use.

A star screwdriver is a common item available at any hardware or lowes/home depot.

Dishwasher door will not close properly

usually d/w doors are fine for long time.
1. check if anything blocks it to close securely e.g. the cutlery basket or the dish racks not fully sliding in or may be off track/chanel.
2. try running a cycle empty and see if it closes after doing #1.

Deactivate childlock on fully integrated neff dishwasher

If door won't close and you don't have a child-lock, just push the door closed a lot harder than you normally would - NEFF manual says to do that, and it worked for me! I think it just forces it to engage and 'releases' the catch, as after that it closed with just normal pressure applied.

Neff H7871 oven door does not stay closed. Catches do not appear to be working

The door latch is either cracked or broken. The door when gets closed the door latches clicks. But if the door latch is loose or cracked it will not click and door will not close. The door needs to be disassembled and the door latch has to be replaced, if the latch is cracked. Also to check the latch from inside the door needs to be removed.-------- This will help.thanks.Helpmech.

Dishwasher not working. Start button works ok as

Hello,

It sounds as though the Anti-flood device has kicked in,could be due to a leak under the dishwasher,it will need to be pulled out and investigated.
I would also check that there is water at the hose to the machine.

Hope this helps.

The door will not close. It appears that the lock is in the closed position and will not allow the catch to close fully and engage. The m/c is mid cycle so I have switched off at the main socket

Check for obstructions, Check the door latch the latch may have moved into its housing, use a screw and position the door latch properly free from any obstruction, then try closing the door again..if not then you may need to replace the door.hope this helps pls do let meknow

Neff dishwasher door problem.

The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem.

Adjusting the door on a neff dishwasher

I have the same problem with my newly installed Miele integrated dishwasher. The door does not stay open when you are trying to load dishes. I heard that there is an adjustable internal mechanism to adjust the tension on the door. But, I am still working on solving my problem.
