I've had my phone for about two months and it was working fine. About two days ago the screen started to glitch a bit when I used it but then it went away for a few hours. Yesterday, though, it started to glitch really badly and the screen started to freeze and now every time I plug it in to charge it starts to glitch really badly and freeze and then the screen will black out (from me not using it for about 30 seconds) and it won't turn back on. I don't want to send it in and be without a phone for 7-10 days if it is a simple fix or one that I can do easily at a phone repair shop. Any ideas?
The android dude keeps popping up every time I turn on my phone.
I know this is too late to help the original poster but the same thing happened to me last week with my ZTE warp 4G..I made the mistake of running out and buying a new phone.
I also had the ZTE for less then a year so it was frustrating!
I opened the phone up. There is about 6 small screws and then popped it apart. I took a can of air and sprayed the dust and what not off the motherboard. I put it back together and powered it on and it worked!
It then updated from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2. I believe it is a glitch in the update that is causing the black screen. I'm typing this with my ZTE.
Your touch screen motherboard is bad.. you need a new phone ..sorry..
Mine is doing the same thing. I had it for about 3 months. Boost Mobile will not replace it.
this is a very common issue with any ZTE device cause by the placement of the touchscreen ribbon being right next to the charging port....60% of the time the motherboard is the issue (new phone) 40% of the time the ribbon that connect the motherboard to touchscreen is corroded from water damaged or slighty detached (switch entire screen assembly with person with same issue)

SOURCE: my phone wont charge when i plug it into the charger
maybe the problem is on your charger. try to change it with a new charger.
if still happen, you can make a jumper to your USB port (if you don't know how to make it, take it to any service centre and ask them to make the jumper)
if still happen call your phone manufacturer.
If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and graduallythe charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The batteryshows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops offto zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptablecharge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
