Question about Asrock ALiveNF6G-VSTA (MB-ALVNF6G) Motherboard

1 Answer

Looking for any helpful ratings and or tweaks, maybe even a post as to would you buy it all over again if you knew what you know after owning it.

I have invested in a new mobo, i have always used MSI and never had to retire a mobo due to any reason other than it was time for an upgrade, same as now.this mobo was very inexpensive due to a deal that was made with a seller from ebay who sold me an asus M2R23-MVP, BEWARE THESE ARE GARBO,i have never had a mobo with so many issues just to get it softwared up and tuned to run at a custom set of bios settings. well if there is any feedback i can get to give me insight for the pro's and con's of this mobo,i am hoping it is a power house ,as for the cpu HD Video Card Ram and speeds of ram and vid cardspeeds i know i have all the latest and next to almost the best of all add-ons, ie vid card,cpuamd,am2 4 core,1gig pny nvidia based vid card, 4 ram sticks of 2gigs each and the hd is a seagate 1 terabyte, lots of cooling and many fans, set up for optimum air flow.all this is an msi mobo platform and the board is almost 2 years old, they are the best i have ever used , i have heard alot about the asrock and certain models so i found what i was looking for a bought it.I AM IN NEED OF ANY ONE WHO IS RUNNING THIS MOBO AND WHAT IS THERE TAKE ON THE BOARD/OPPINION,AND ANY PLUSES OR NEGATIVES thank you .Robert Alan.

Asus products are garbage. I am aware of at least (3) customers who had requested repairs for Asus products, according to the terms of warranty. The customers have complained that after shipping the faulty equipment to Asus repair center, Asus personnel cause physical damage and then refused to repair the original problem. I know of one customer who had recently filed a complaint with Indiana's Attorney General, regarding these activities.

I advise that you stay away from Asus products entirely

I don't know exactly what model of Seagate Barracuda do you have. I know that the warranty for Seagate drives is 5 years (maybe not for all countries). I suggest you to take a look at this link for your own country and disk drive, and ask for hard disk replacement from Seagate. Mention that at the disk replacement procedure the new disk is clean (without data) so you will need to reinstall windows at the new disk.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.

JEC9536 2 right side burners will not work

Sounds like a broken wire, but if the service people already knew what was wrong, you should be bale to type in the Make and Model number into a Google search and find more information about it.

Maybe SearsPartsDirect will have a wiring diagram that you can look at to help diagnose the problem.

For thing like DVD burner drives, Windows XP/Vista offer universal support, meaning that it won't matter that you own a Dell computer, you can buy any DVD drive and it will work.

I recommed the following for $51. It also comes with software to support burning DVDs, just in case your current software does not offer this feature.

Finalizing a dvd

THis solution follows on from ThaMP3Doctor's one which i rated 'helpful', as although it doesnt solve the problem it gave me the clue which helped me to solve the problem i posted above - so im kind of answering my own question here!

The reason THaMp3Doctor's solution was only rated helpful is becasue as far as i can find, you cant finalize the disk in your PC, you have to do it in the camcorder.

so here goes: Following ThaMp3Doctor's comment that if the disc is full it doesnt finalize i checked to see how full my disc was - it only had 25 secs of record time left. so i deleted a scene i knew i wasnt going to use and tried to finalize again = it worked! :-)

Please give this a try and rate my solution as would like to know if others have success with it. good luck!

lendebr is right...
Same problem here on combo microwave and convection oven. The hinges are a horribly wimpy design. Jenn air has a replacement part thats helps..but the replacment hinges will do the same thing in very short order. 1 month after I fixed ours my sister in law opened the oven door and let go of the door when it was about 2/3 open and that was all it took to tweak the new hinges so the door doesnt close all the way again. i should have clued in when the girl at Jenn air sent me three sets of replacement hinges. I thought it was a mistake..turns out she knew it wasnt going to fix it permanently.
The moral is that Jenn air appliances are POS and I will not ever buy anything from the again..But I will tell everyone I possibly can not to buy anything from them.
