Re: asus k8v se data-2 data+2 ground and vcc wires

You can download the manual from this location

Go to page 1-21 and see the extra USB connectors. If you are talking about your wires coming out from your case and used for a USB port like the one in the front, you should connect them to any of the 4 available USB channel following the polarity. For example connect your Vcc to USB+5V, groung to GND, data-2 to USB_P8- and data+2 to USB_P8+

Plugigng of wire in board

Hello there,

Below is an image of *********** Board with number indication and wiring explanation. From your manual page 1-6 you can see the image below and 1-7 for the connector, jumpers, slots. as indicated in your problem I will only answer problems related to the wirings.

  • For the Front Panel

1. There are 8 wires from the front panel's casing, excluding USB connectors and front audio cable.

2. Just plug the front panel switch headers to the F_Panel main board connectors. 1 & 2 are positive, if the led do not light change polarity but Im sure it will.

Note:The mainboard provides a front panel connector for electrical connection to the front panel switches and LEDs. JFP1 is compliant with Intel® Front Panel I/O Connectivity Design Guide.

  • For the USB connectors

1. If your casing has a USB header on the front bezel you can put it on any connector. You can also purchase a USB module cable or an internal card reader and plug the headers to any of those connectors.

Note: Observe Polarity, do this Vcc, -Data, +Data, Gnd ,(NC) ground is always near to NC.

Plug it at your own risk, reference image are already shown.

  • Front Panel Audio connectors

1. Look for FP_Audio header from your casing and plug it to the connector.

*Asus recommend you connect a high definition front panel audio module to this connector to avail of the motherboard's high-definition audio capability.

Hopefully this information helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Where do i plug the small black, green, yellow and red wires? the head of the wires have labels (ground, +D, -D, +VCC) thanks.

Hi, do you have the MB manual? I ask this because most boards have different arrangements.
The wires connect to the bottom right of the mother board, these control the flickering LEDS on the front of your PC, if you get a magnifying glass or if you've got a hawks eyesight you will see the matching icons printed on the motherboard. Thanks Mark ;-)

I need help with connecting my case wires to the motherboard

those wires are for the USB not audio, the meaning of the
writing no the wires are:
vcc=5 volts, -D=data negative, +D= data positive,GND=ground.
look in the manual for usb connection, if the mainboard has the header connection for them connect the wires to it if not just leave them out, secure them out of the way.

Need SPDIF pinouts identified.

When looking at the board, bottom towards you assuming that the 3 pins are parallel to the pci/e slots, the left pin should be the +5V vcc the middle pin is the spdif out and the right pin is the ground. Also the 3 pins are probably not exactly the same distance from each other (equally spaced) the 2 pins that are closest together are the spdif and the ground, spdif is always the middle pin. This info is based on 2 different asus motherboard install guides. I hope this helps you.
