You are most likely missing the video card drivers from the computer. you can get them from the makers website.

Or if you know exactly what video card you have you can look for the drivers on

www.nvidia.com for nvidia cards
www.ati.amd.com for ati cards

Installing new cpu on a emachine

According to the specs I have Serena, the eMachines eTower 633i Desktop PC, uses a TriGem Cognac motherboard.

[TriGem is the manufacturer, Cognac is the model.
Note it is Not the TriGem Cognac+ ]

http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/motherboards_d/Trigem/Cognac/

Specifications. (You can click on the photo to enlarge)

PDF motherboard manual,

http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/TriGem/manuals/index.html

Click on - Cognac - in the left side of the list.

Going back to the Motherboards.org page;
(Nothing like upside down photo information, and the motherboard is turned 90 degrees to the Right, to how it actually sits in your computer case )

The processor socket is a Socket 370,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_370

Used for Intel Pentium III processors, and intel 'Celey' processors.

(Excuse me......Celeron.
An Intel Pentium III processor has TWICE the L2 cache, that a comparable Intel Celeron has.
The cache for a Processor is a small memory area for the Processor.

It is the First memory the Processor accesses.
The Ram Memory is second, and the Harddrive is third.
More cache for a Processor makes it more faster )

The motherboard chipset is an Intel 810.

The Northbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, is an Intel 82810.
The Southbridge chip is an Intel 82801AA, or an Intel 82801AB.
(Intel ICH, or Intel ICH0 )

Looking at the chart, and reading across, you can see what the Intel 810 motherboard chipset supports;

1) Processors: Intel Celeron, or Intel Pentium II, or Intel Pentium III.

2) Processor Front Side Bus: (FSB) 66MegaHertz, or 100MHz.

3) SDR Sdram ram memory at 100Megahertz.

[Single Data Rate Sdram is often just referred to as Sdram.

Erroneous.
Double Data Rate Sdram is also Sdram (DDR Sdram)
Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory
So is DDR2 Sdram, and DDR3 Sdram ]

Also referred to as PC100.

So when looking for a CPU you look for;

1) Fits in a Socket 370 processor socket.
Yep. The best is going to be an Intel Pentium III.

2) Has a FSB of 100MHz.

Hmmm,............

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_III_microprocessors#.22Coppermine.22_.28180_nm.29

Scroll down.

Pentium III 1100.

Maximum frequency rate ('Speed') is 1.1GHz (1100MHz)
Front Side Bus = 100MHz
Uses a Socket 370 processor socket.
Part Number = RB80526PY005256
sSpec Number = SL5QW

256MegaByte of L2 cache. (256MB)

A comparable Celeron would have 128MB of L2 cache.

http://www.impactcomputers.com/sl5qw.html

[ Don't forget to follow Anti-Static Precautions.
Clean the bottom of the Heatsink THOROUGHLY, and the top of the Processor if it needs it. (I always do anyway)

PROPERLY apply fresh, new Thermal Paste.

How to increase screen resolution from 800x600 to 1366x768

You need to get the correct video drivers for your Graphics card or on-board graphics chip. Just go to the support site of the graphics card or if it's on-board video go to the support site of the motherboard to get the proper drivers. Once the correct drivers are installed, you will be able to increase the resolution.

I have a dell 20" LCD monitor. But Presario S4000V doesn't fit for that monitor. Please let me know what can i do. Change "Video card"? thanks

Have you tried changing the Resolution settings to "Recommended"? If so, then you may have to purchase a newer Video Card. Look-up your motherboard 1st, then go by the Recommendations of the motherboards BRAND and Chipset of Video Cards. If you have nVidia Chipset, get GeForce or nVidia card, VIA, SiS work fine w/ these (nVidia Chipsets) Video Cards. But, if the motherboard is of Intel Manuf, you will want the ATI card. Get at least a 256MB Memory card(512MB is better) and read-up on the cards resolution to make sure it fits your screen size/dimensions. Good Luck. To find out your motherboard type/brand, dwnld. CPU-Z for free online. It will tell you about your CPU, Motherboard, Memory, and alot more.

Problem with the increase the resolution of display from 800X600

Go to your desktop, find a blank space. Right click to open up a context menu. Near the bottom, there should be a "properties" tab. This will open up a display manager. Scroll through the tabs until you find one that has the resolution settings (probably the second from the left). There should be a small slider bar, just move that to the right or left to adjust your resolution. The computer may not allow you to increase the resolution above what the monitor can handle.

I have 810 bu mother board

your board is compatible with pentium 3 processors through the "coppermine" revision, the pentium 3 "tulatin is not supported" here is a list from wikipedia of the "coppermine" processors supported by your board.:

Coppermine
  • 100 MHz FSB: 500, 550, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, 1000, 1100 MHz (E-Models)
  • 133 MHz FSB: 533, 600, 667, 733, 800, 866, 933, 1000, 1133 MHz (EB-Models)

Coppermine-T (the only coppermines with an attached heatsink)
  • 133 MHz FSB: 800, 866, 933, 1000, 1133 MHz

The Tulatin core is NOT compatible with intel 810 boards, and they can be easily confused with the coppermine-t's because they also have attached heatsinks.
