I just got on myself. It is deceiving but it can adjust. You have to be very firm with it. I strongly recommend NOT having the GPS unit attached or having the mount on the window when adjusting as you have to bend it hard to move it. Just bend it whatever direction you want it to move and it will move. It is just VERY stiff. My guess is because that helps it maintain whatever position to bend it into. Good luck.

Hi, i'm wondering how i take off the car mount that is like a sticker that goes on the windsheild for garmen nuvi 1390 model- (in order to keep the gps from falling). I feel it's a showy display...

A plastic putty knife would be the weapon of choice. Squirt a little window cleaner along the edge, push the putty knife in a bit, pull it back, squirt some more, repeat.

Mounting of gps can't mount on windsheild.

Tomtom GPS devices come with a variety of windshield suction mounts. All have in common that the windshield and the suction cup both must be clean; use a mild soap dispersed in some warm water to remove any dirt. Rinse properly. Sometimes it helps to keep the cup a little moist.

Make sure the cup is not warped due to previous exposure to heat, and check for any nicks in the rubber. Small damage may easily make the mount unusable and you'd need to get a replacement.

Models with a lever mechanic: open the lever (cup becomes flat), press the cup against the windshield and while keeping pressure, close the lever. It will lift the middle of the cup away from the windshield, causing a vacuum.

Models with a ring around the cup base: Turn the ring all the way counter-clockwise (cup becomes flat), press cup against windshield and while keeping pressure, turn the ring clockwise 90 degrees. This requires some force, but in my experience these mounts stick more reliable,

Need clutch rod adjustment

Slide the rubber boot away from the clutch cable adjuster.
Loosen the cable locknut and turn the adjuster to provide as much cable slack at the clutch lever as possible.
Support the bike so that it's sits straight up.
Remove the clutch inspection cover.
Slide the spring with the attached lockplate off of the adjusting screw flats.
Turn the clutch adjusting screw counterclockwise until the screw stops. Then turn the clutch adjusting screw clockwise 1/4 turn.
Install the lockplate and spring onto the adjuster screw flats. You may have to turn the adjuster slightly to get the lockplate to line up.
Reinstall the clutch inspection cover and O-ring.
Adust the clutch cable at the cable adjuster all the way out and work the clutch a time or two. Now adjust the cable so that you have between 1/16" and 1/8" of freeplay at the clutch lever.
Tighten the cable adjuster locknut and replace rubber boot.
Good Luck

Installing windshield mount

there are two pieces to the mount, the mount and the cradle..the cradle snaps on the gps and the mount slides in the groves on the back of the cradle.

to attach it to the window, lift the lever near the suction cup on the bottom of the mount..press firmly against the window, the push lever down toward the windshield to lock it.

you should remove it and reattach it every few weeks to prevent it from falling off the window and damaging the unit.

Adjustment of sharpened cutter of porter cable 653 versa plane

There are two adjustments. First find the screw on the right side that allows loosening of rear baseplate. Once loose, another screw jacks the base up or down. They are both hex heads on mine.

Turn jack screw until a straight edge along the base just clears the cutter. Spin the cutter once to make sure both edges are the same depth and that both clear the straight edge.

For the front shoe, turn adjustment handle to zero. Remove the adjustment handle from the front shoe and find two vertical slots at the front. Two screws (hex heads) allow loosening of shoe. Once loose, the shoe can be adjusted by sliding up or down. With a straight edge held along the rear base and touching the front base, align the front shoe so straight edge barely clears blade and tighten screws. The front and back base should line up. Replace adjustment lever and recheck zero cut clearance as well as maximum depth. Readjust as necessary. If zero clearance is not an issue, the bases can be set to allow deeper cuts than factory specified. It's a powerful planer so if you're cutting softer woods, a deeper cut might be desired.

Use an 'alcowipe' available from your local chemist.
The alcohol in the wipe will disolve the glue and will not affect your windscreen.

Aternatively get a bottle of 'Spirit Alcohol', also available from the chemists and use a cloth to dissolve the glue

Problems with the window mount that comes with the Garmin 360

You just have to push the ball part on the window mount into the socket part that holds the GPS. It's pretty tight, so you have to press pretty hard.
