Question about Kenwood KDC-202MR CD Player

Open Question

Kenwood kdc-202mr not turning on.

I have a kenwood kdc-202mr, it is in our boat, we opened the boat for this summers season and the unit wont come on, we checked to make sure we have power and the fuse is not blown, I did take out the fuse in the unit and took my tester to the hot side of the fuse space and there is no power, so I am getting power to the unit, but it is not getting to the fuse. can some one think of a way to fix or should i say goodbye to this unit and get another.

If no power to fuse, then the problem is a simple broken or corroded connection somewhere.

SOURCE: No Sound - boat stereo

Assuming that the four speakers are connected to the amplifier, then the amp is the most likely problem component. Does the amplifier show a power light when the system is turned on? Note that there is probably another fuse in the amplifier power wire, near the battery.

SOURCE: turn aux on on kenwood kdc-mp205

In order to access the AUX option the stereo needs to be in Standby mode. To do this just hit the SRC or source button until you reach the Standby option. Now hit the menu button and scroll up or down until you reach the AUX on/off option and just turn it on. Hope you find this helpful.

KDC-MP4032 head unit wont turn on

hi, seeing that your kenwood showed up "protect" you may have an audio circuit/amplifier fault within the unit. try resetting the unit to see if unit comes "on" again. if the unit comes on and protect flashes again, then you definitely have an internal audio circuit fault. if not then check all power connections(yellow and red wire voltages, as well as ground connection), as well as the condition of the face pins!

I can't play my iphone on my kenwood KDC-MP435U

Jennifer, I have the same issue. the problem is that the 2007+ generations of Kenwood receivers are not compatible with the iPhone. You will need to get a 2009+ series in order to use your iPhone with the head unit. I had the same issue with the Kenwood KDC-MP435U in my mustang. I am going to get a newer head unit that supports the iPhone. You cannot do it with the MP435U.

it's a Canadian Kenwood.

I had the 925 purchased from Ebay, but I sold the car with it.
it's probably the ribbon wire broken between the face and the unit. I know that on Ebay some they use to offer a repair for these type of units.
