Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a ViewSonic N3252w LCD TV. When I turned it on last night, I received sound but no picture. I purchased the TV on 5/15/07 with a 2 year extension on my warranty. Is my unit covered by the warranty and what is the likely repair needed?

Tv stopped working watched night before next morning no picture or sound

Inspect the power supply module for any bad caps with domed tops first.

TV won't turn on with remote, but remote does work.

If the control buttons on the side/back of the tv works then you can verify the remote works.
Take a digital camera(turned on) and point the remote at the lenses. Press the remote buttons and look for flashes on the camera's lcd.
If the remote works then the remote receiver on the set may be bad and need to be repair/replaced.

My viewsonic n3252w made a pop sound then turned itself off, the tv is 3years old now. when i try to turn it on it tries then goes off again, if i unplug it for a while i get a picture then the same things...

Open the monitor, examine the circuit boards. Look for small components that look like small cans, these are capacitors. If you see any that look bulged on top, then your problem can probably be solved by replacing these. Check out the following sites;

No picture, sound works, but along with high-pitched noise

My guess is that you might have the yellow (video) cable plugged into an audio input on the TV. Make sure that the yellow cable is plugged into both the video out on the DVD player and the video in on the TV. Most of these connections are color coded.

As a diagnosis, try changing the TV input (using the remote) and let me know if you still get the buzzing on the other inputs. If no, then, it's most likely your RCA connections. If yes, it's another problem.
