I cant find just a flame sensor part which is what the heating guy said i need. Brings me to the hole mechanism. Which is the gas control valve. So is the flame sensor in that?
Flame sensor will be were flame can hit sensor. usually only has 1 wire. look were burners are and flame comes out. its a small metal rod. usually you can use sand paper and clean them off (even if they look ok) and they are fine. does system fire up for a few seconds and then gas shuts off? if so flame sensor is problem.

We had a problem keeping the pilot light to stay on, and this site recommended that it could possibly be the thermocoupler that was causing our problems also. We ordered the thermocouple, put it on,hooked it back up and it worked great! Thank you so much.
ordered thermocouple from www.masterparts.net

Yes, the flame sensor is part of the intermittent pilot assembly. Check the following: make sure all grounding wires are secure and no corrosion is built up on them. Clean or replace the pilot assembly, also clean out the orifice with a very small drill. Make sure the sensor is in the flame and make sure the pilot tube is not leaking gas reducing the gas pressure at the pilot.
If it continues, you will have to replace the ignition control.

Bad inducer motor most likely. Check the leads and plug. If it just homms, it is stuck. Check to see if the drain hoses are free of moisture. Can you get to the shaft to spin it to see if it is free?

This sounds like a bad heat exchanger. It is possible that you do not see the crack because the crack is closed when the heat exchanger is cold (or room temp). Allow the furnace to heat up, this will allow the expansion of the crack. Turn the power off and examine the heat exchanger while it is still hot.
SOURCE: How do I clean a flame sensor on a 1993 Lennox
You can sand the flame sensor but it sounds like another problem. Sounds like a limit switch or something in the control circuit, You need to have a service tech look at this. Ask for free estimate on repair. I have worked on hundreds of these units and they are sometimes tricky to work on. Lenox has come up with new controls for the whisper heat furnace to replace the old ones. If the flame sensor is bad the unit will try to light a few times and lock out and you ahve to kull power to the furnace to reset. If this is whats happening clean the sensor nd you should be ok If not you need help from a service tech.Rus
