Question about Panasonic SC-HT930 System
SA-HT930 The disc tray will not open at all, no matter what we do. It has INIT showing on the front display. I have the same problem too. For no reason my Panasonic Surround sound system turns on but then displays "INIT". All the functions and buttons on the remote and on the unit dont work other than the volume and power button. I have looked all over the internet for a solution for this problem but I cannot find any. I see that a lot of Panasonic sound system owners are having the same problem. I think we should all talk to Panasonic and get them to compensate us for our troubles. I'm going to call Panasonic and talk to them very seriously about this. This must be a manufacture defect because this same problem is common among other panasonic sound system owners.
Upon powerup, these units perform some testing functions and attempt to get to a 'known" state. It would seem that this is not completing. This can be because the CD mechanism is jammed or because of a power supply problem. Without seeing the actual unit and taking a few measurements, I can not state for sure the exact problem. I would pay for a detailed repair estimate and report the results here. From that, we should be able to guide you through the actual repair.

Regards,
Dan

I had a jammed disc that was causing this same error message. To remove the jammed disc, remove the top by removing the screws and then you can remove the stuck/jammed discs. For the Panasonic SC-PT750 there are 7 screws, three small silver ones on the back, then 4 black ones, two on each side, all philips head. Once you have that off, gently pry it off starting from the back, the cover is actually hinged into the front plastic piece of the player.

Try restoring your unit to factory shipping conditions:
Press stop button on the main unit and (>10/ENTER) on the remote control at the same time for about 3 secconds, you would see the message "Initialized" on your tv screen, Once the message disappears from the tv, let go of the buttons. Try this and let me know.
