Question about Dell McAfee VirusScan PDA 2004 for Axim X3 / X5 / X30 Handhelds (R6153) for PC, Pocket PC

We have McAfee security and keep getting a request to reinstall.

We have the Reinstallation CD but cannot get past the facility already installed which simply asks us to reinstall.

Hi

First of all you need to del Mc afee completely, you need to go into ctrl panel and to add or remove programmes and del the mcafee, and mcafee in programme files in c drive as well. then try to install it , it should work for you.

The Windows XP installation CD includes an option to repair an existing Windows XP installation. Using this option allows you to reinstall Windows without losing the files, personal data and programs you already have on the system. To take advantage of it, just place the CD into your CD or DVD drive on your PC and reboot the computer. During the installation you will be prompted if you wish to use the recovery console to repair a Windows installation. The recovery console is rather limited in its use, so just press the Enter key to proceed with the installation as you would normally.

blank.gif The next screen should display a prompt asking you if you wish to repair an existing installation. Select your Windows installation (most likely it is the only one) and press R.

When the installation completes, you should still be able to access all of your documents and installed programs.

The laptop won't load past the welcome screen. I can get it to start up, and go to a start in safe mode etc. but it won't load past the welcome screen.

Your computer is experiencing a no boot problem which means that the operating system is corrupted. You can do a start up repair to fix the computer but if it won't fix it then that's the time that you need to reinstall the whole operating system.

It could have been very helpful if you provided us with your operating system so that we can provide you with the exact troubleshooting. However, I just presume that you are using windows VISTA or Windows 7. However, this troubleshooting also works with windows XP.

Before you start the start up repair. You need the Operating System Installation disc from Microsoft.

1. Insert the disc in the dvd/cd drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Once you see the "press any key to boot to cd" message. Press any key.
4. It will bring you to a page where it will ask you to INSTALL or to REPAIR. Just click on repair.
5. It might ask you to load the drivers. Just click ok or next.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

However, if start up repair won't fix the problem, Clean Reinstallation is the next step. Clean reinstallation will delete everything in your computer including the files, pictures, etc. that you have saved. But you cannot really access them anymore since the computer won't boot up.

McAfee Integrated Security Platform Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.


Not only Uninstalling & Reinstalling the McAfee Program would help, because usually you'd get this Error During the Installation. The Reason for this Error is because of the Windows Update (McAfee is Disigned on the Windows Platform).

Things that Needs to be checked here are:

1. Update Windows:
- Open IE (Internet Explorer).
- Click on the TOOLS or SAFETY (If the IE version is IE v.8).
- Select Windows Update.
- Ensure that All Windows Updates are Installed on the Computer.


2. Installing MSXML 3 & 4:
- Check if you already have MSXMLs installed on your Computer by going to START >> CONTROL PANEL >> ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS or PROGRAMS >> PROGRAMS & FEATURES (In Case of Windows Vista/7).
- If you find MSXMLs, Uninstall them & then Restart the Computer.
- Download and Reinstall MSXML version 3 (MSXML3.msi only).
- Restart the computer.
- Download and install MSXML version 4 (MSXML.msi only).
- Restart the computer.
- Run McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe) from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
- Reinstall the McAfee Program.

Reinstallation problem


Same error here. Compaq Visual Fortran 6.5/6.6.
I think is a problem related to Windows XP SP3.

- Solution:
Re-install Windows XP SP3 (integrated).
Right after installation (no reboot) run the CVF installer. It will work.
Then do normall installation stuff.
If you have Windows XP SP2 you won't have any problem.
Hope it helps.

Couldn't find ANY solution with SP3 installed before CVF installation.

McAfee not updating


Some files might have been corrupted somehow.

As per the error, you need to uninstall Mcafee and then reboot the computer. Then once your windows boots back, re-install Mcafee from the CD you purchased. That should solve any corruption problems.

Need help uninstalling?  Click Start -> Run, then type appwiz.cpl and press enter. You will get the Add/Remove programs. Go down and select Mcafee Total Security and click on remove and follow the simple instructions on the screen.

Bad request keep appearing when I try install mcafee on my lap top


McAfee has a uninstaller named MCPR2.EXE, found on a link on this web page:

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=107083&lc=1033&partner=10005&type=TS

Follow the instructions to remove and re-install McAfee.

You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.

Mcafee services are not working currently

this will interactively remove mcafee, then use install cd to re-install.
