When the "pink screen" happens on my Polaroid FLM-1911 TV, I unplug the power cord from the back of the unit, wait 30 seconds, and replug it. This fixes the problem.

Hi, I was going crazy trying to fix the pink screen. Our tv was purchased 13 months ago, just past the warranty. I could get sound if I reset the channels on the TV; our other tv's were working fine.
Finally, I called the cable company and they sent through a 'reset/refresh', which took about 15-20 minutes, then the picture came back. I hope this works for you.

Lg 42 luv 5500 screens goes pink when turned on.

Try plugging devices into the inputs like DVD, Blu Ray, VCR, Game console, etc. If the screen goes pink on all inputs or at least all the ones you plug anything into (at least 2 different like HDMI and RCA) then it is probably an issue with the screen itself. However it is hard to say when there is so little to go on. information like is there sound or no sound, do you see shadows, outlines etc. or nothing at all, does anything happen when you press menu buttons, will help to see what the problem may be. Secondly how old is the TV? Is it still under warranty or just out? what happened before the screen went pink. what type of TV is it LCD, LED, Plasma, CRT?

If the warranty is still valid go back to where you got it from os contact manufacturer and if warranty is out by about 6 months or less contact manufacturer and try your luck All TVs should last several years at least.

Green and Red (thin lines) across entire screen [JVC 70 G886 HD TV]. Screen went to all green (wide and thin) within 1/2 hour and picture hasn't come back. "Input selection" box is visible and clear...

Try a "hard reset" first by unplugging the set for 30 seconds. and if no help, you may have a problem with the SMPS power supply, it might have a bad capacitor or two by now. Worth repair if engine is good compared to a flat panel.

My LG HD tv screen suddenly went green. sound is

Hi,
I disagree with info provided, if screen of your LG lcd tv becomes green that means inverter board is working and lcd tv does not have convergence ICs.
Please unplug tv from ac wall socket for minute to get it reset, replug back in and turn it On and check its picture.
If still showing green screen then change input source with remote, if tv shows same green screen on all inputs that means its either lcd panel problem or digital signal processor got bad loacted on main board. Local tv repairman is needed to confirm and fix it.
Thanks.

We have picture, but no sound; it is not the cable box. Suggestions?  We were watching the TV when suddenly the sound went dead.  Messing with the cables in the back brought it back temporarily,...

Try changing the cable. Is it a red and white composite audio cable or an hdmi cable? Try resetting the tv to the factory preset values. On the tv remote press the menu button and scroll over to setup. Scroll down to reset and press enter. Select yes then press enter. Select yes again then press enter. Then after the tv restarts go back to the correct input. I do recommend trying another set of cables if jiggling them did cause the sound to come back once before.

Red color is completely gone out of the LCD flat screen

You can try performing a factory reset of the TV. Go into the service menu (Press, then release the INPUT button on the remote, then key in 2580). Scroll down to "Other Settings", then go to "EEPROM Init", then press enter, select YES and press enter. This will reset the TV to the factory defaults. Good luck!

No sound from headset plugged into monitor

From the manual I found, this model does NOT support ANY audio connections.
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/1/170b1a/170b1a_dfu_aen.pdf
170B Product Features
- 17" color LCD monitor with excellent display performance.
- Dual input-accepts both DVI Digital and VGA Analog input.
- Advanced AUTO adjustment automatically optimizes picture quality.
- Wide viewing angle technology.
- 7.1 (181mm) small footpring with full detachable cables.
- USB Bay for upgrade to USB Hub.
- Optional protective cover to prevent LCD panel damage.
- Standard VESA mounting holes and optional tilt/swivel Wall Mount Kit.

But if yours does have these ports, I would suggest they are not for a headset, but for connection to the _PC_. I would suggest your model monitor has built in speakers, and the green port is the INPUT from the PC Speaker output. The pink goes back to the PC from the MIC which is built into the screen.

Screen changes between color as a demo function.no signal

Gateway was sued Class action over LCD's and Plasmas they sold over a 2 year period. They resell 3rd party TV's that were very faulty, an immature design.

Here's what I learned about mine, which makes it limp through as a Computer monitor (both DVI and VCA) and halfway functional TV.
You have to connect a DVI source, on the Main Menu for the DVI input there is an option called "Factory Mode". scroll down to it with the CH buttons and select it with the vol button. The scroll to "initialize eprom", select and confirm it. After the "Waitting" words disappear, make sure you have a TV source connected, Then turn the TV off and on, using the hard switch in the back. The TV input should be defaulted to channel 10 or 11 now But you select a TV channel that has no TV signal on it (like channel 1 for example) , the whole TV input side will refuse to let you select it again, and you'll have a blank screen and have to start over.

That takes care of the blank screen thing Now the other problem is parental control is defaulting to "ON" or something, and you can't program channels. With the TV input Main Menu engaged, select "Setup Menu." If you have this problem, then you'll only see 2 options, all the TV input and channel programming options will be missing. You have to select Parental Control, and when it prompts you for a password hit the volume > button 4 times (or just wait for a minute.) This should bring back your TV System and auto prgram/manual search options.

Unfortunately, my TV doesn;t remember these setting very well if I select cable, it does better if I select "AIr". But at least it funtions - kind of. If you switch to your computer input, you probably will have to switch the monitor off and on from the back panel again. Mine always starts up with the menu onscreen. All this might bve less trouble if you have a the remote, I don;t know where mine went after the last move.

Good luck, and hope this helps.
