Computer does not turn on

I've tried with the battery attached an without, but when I press the power button, the blue light comes on, but nothing else happens. I've tried the FN+F5 button, but that doesn't seem to work. How can I get the computer back on? This computer is 3 months old and running Vista.

Fujitsu Lifebook model N3410 XP Media Center Edition 2005 When I press the blue on/off button the Fujitsu screen comes up as usual displaying on the bottom of the screen [ESC] Diagnostic Screen [F2] BIOS Setup [F12] Boot Menu. After 20 to 30 seconds shuts down. Have pressed F2 and the screen that appears tells what is installed plus that there is a thermal error. This screen appears for 5 seconds than shuts down. None of the other promps work. Puzzled with this problem.

    Hi,

I think I have exactly the same problem and model except that it is A135-S4527. I was using the laptop in the morning, put it on hibernate, came back in the evening and couldnt turn it on. Plug indicator light works but the battery indicator light is either very dim blue or not functioning.

Power on problem with Acer Aspir 5600.
It was full working condition untill itsuddenly printed blue warning screen about some file missing from Windows. Then it turned on for the last time and wasn't working stable(very slow, some errors appeard) but i tlooked like some simple virus more than a copmuter problem. SSince then whenever I press the power button it starts up the CPU fan and turn on control lights but after 5 secs fan is off and after another 2 secs all power off. And after 3 secs it reboots automaticly. This proces keeps repeating several times (3 - 7 random). Can you help me? Thanks.

Hi,

The only easy check I can suggest is for you to have a look & see the memory underneath the laptop. It should be covered by a squarish panel/lid held by a screw (or 2). You can try wiggling it or best remove it by moving the 2 locking clasps at each side slightly away making the memory pop out. You can now remove the memory and clean the little gold tips/connectors using a pencil eraser. Reinsert and try again.

Other than the above, would suggest that you bring it back to your dealer/supplier since any further action on your part would void your warranty.

Good luck and kind regards.

Try unplugging it while the battery is in, plug it in then place the battery back in. The battery indicator should turn orange (or how ever your certain lap top indicates charging) then turn it on.

Hi, I hope this isn't the wrong place to respond but following the advice of Benimur, I tooked out the memory think, blew on the area where there were the cold pins (since i didnt have an eraser and would've been too afraid to damage something to do that anyway) and my computer is alive again. Thanks so much for your advice Benimur! FYI, I am the Guest who posted several minutes ago who put her computer on hibernate.

What PC is it, also if only 3 months old you should be under warranty.

Dell Precision M6300 turns on and then nothing happens.

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.

Hi, I've had my Acer aspire laptop for a few years now, but I haven't used it for over a year (Because I got a desktop). So when I've come to turn it on today, It won't work. The screen...

Start with pulling the battery and power, then hold the power button in for about 30-40 seconds. Then plug the power back in (still no battery). Try to power up the computer. If it boots, shut it down and put the battery in and try again. If it boots the issue was cleared. If it boots with the power cord but not with the battery added, you have a battery issue.

Hope this helps

Gateway NV5337u Laptop worked yesterday, now only the blue lite comes on when plugged in. No fans or any other sounds.

We might need to talk more, to clarify to solve this promblem. First of all, have you done any update at all to the system? So by what you mean is that when you would go ahead and press the power on button, you get nothing at all... I mean dead, no lights, no fan, completely dead right? But when you have the charger plugged in, the battery light come on only saying it's charging? Is this blue light the battery indicator light, if it is, then that means your battery is fully charged. Try taking out your battery and just using the power adapter and press the power button to see if anything comes on, like fan, lights etc, then try it without the power adapter and only the battery. If you get nothing at all coming at all, I would assume your power button is bad or loose, or the wiring that connects to your powerbutton is loose because i have a gateway Nv series too, and the power button is located where the screen hinges is at, and I'm afraid that when opening and closing, it became loose. This happened to my Emachine, and all I did was took the plastic portion above the keyboard out, and followed the cable ribbon to see if it was loose, or became little disconnect. I kinda just tugged in a little bit and everything worked. I believe it may become loose. Now if the case is that the computer does power on and you get blinking lights, then we are looking at something else.

No guarantee but you can try this. Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Hold down power button for 30 seconds. Plug in AC adapter but leave battery out. Try to restart computer. If it starts, reinstall battery. It worked on a Gateway I was working on last week. Worth a try.

Another suggestion is to take the power out, remove cables and battery then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then reinsert the cables and battery and turn on the pc. If the blue screen still appears, take note of the blue screen error and try to boot to safe mode with networking. If you have a recovery disc, boot it by pressing F12 repeatedly in startup to run the check disk. If did not work, then you have no choice but to reinstall the operating system...

this is either a motherboard, AC or battery problem. Isolate it by removing all attached devices, then emove the battery and power on the computer with just the AC adapter. If that does not work, remove try to use another AC, and another battery. if using another AC and another battery does not work, run the diagnostics on the dell laptop. press and hold the FN key, then press the power button. see if that will give you any error and take note if any of the lock lights will come up and/or blink.
