Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have an AKAI DR16 16 track recorder. I use a 2GB Jaz drive for back up/copying projects. I was having trouble with a number of diferent Jaz drives so I bouught a new one, new chord and new discs. I have been able to record 3 songs on one disk, 1 on two others and then I get a FAIL signal or a system error 6 on the machine. I got the same error messages on the other machines I tried on it as well. These are scsi, as you know. What's the problem?

SOURCE: Copy Protection Signal

"Copy Protected Signal." Means that the data you are trying to Ahem... "Copy" probably has copy protection inbuilt into the disk & data. This is done to stop copying of pirate DVD's etc. Part of the DRM put out by the TV/Music/Film industry. There are programs that can strip protection and enable one to copy said DVD's.. AnyDVD is one that springs to mind, as does Dameon Tools, and many others simply Google for them.

SOURCE: on a dp02cf

Hi, thanks for your responce. The music store actually gave me a call to see how the unit was working and they answered my question. Clearing history does not affect recording.

SOURCE: Recording Error "Can not record on this disk/E4 54037380

I had that exact same problem. I would record a bunch of dvds with no problems for months and then some and one day it doesn't work. Only this showed up E4 EA03738B. However I've found the solution. Instead of going out and returning the recorder or buying new dvds just purchase a Laser Lense Cleaner. It's a dvd cleaner. Works like a charm.

Why is my AKAI DPS 12i recorder is making loud loading noises as i rec or play back the songs? there is about 12 songs on there could this have anything to do with it?

It has nothing to do about the amount of songs present at this device. It has to do about it\'s hardware. I\'m not sure if there\'s a fan inside to cool a processor or other parts (check at the back of this device where all connectors are located). If there\'s dust in the fan-section, the fan has to suck more air, being able to cool the interior devices.

Not read by vista

Alot of XP related items will not be compatiable with Vista

Go into this website to check on your item here which may or may not work for it will be the program driver for it. It is a free download and it will tell you if it is a Vista related driver program or not

Akai DR8 system error 14

Hello,

Did you ever figure out what the "System Error 14" was on your Akai DR8?

Was it a hard drive error?

I am getting the same error in the middle of backing up my work.

Please let me know when you have a chance.

Thanks,
Jason

Tracking seems off

I have had the same problem. There is no way to manually adjust the tracking on this Hitachi, or on most 8mm cameras, for that matter. I copied all of my more recent tapes to DVD first (2 copies of each) and then I went to the oldest tapes, which for some reason were OK. When I got to one tape that gave me trouble, I just let it play in the camcorder for about an hour. It adjusted its own tracking so that the picture was OK. Then, I rewound the tape and copied that one. I still have 2 tapes that will not adjust. I am going to send those out to a copying service. I hope they can adjust the tracking and make the copies I need.
By the way, I used this camera and a Panasonic DMR-E55 to make the DVD copies.

Akai 46in rear projection

Projection TV makers charge an arm and a leg for their replacement lamps. They make it easy to do but as a result the custom lamp assy is expensive. The trick is to just buy the bulb for your model TV from any number of us aftermarket sources at a fraction of the lamp price and install it in the old lamp yourself. really easy.
Hope ya fix it!

Formatting a disk

Iomega drives had a short life and then were overtaken by other technology. They were/are very fragile and had a high fail rate. Time to move on I guess - burn a disk or two.

Not able to access the Jaz Disk

Iomega has quite a bit of customer help info: https://iomega-na-en.custhelp.com Click: Other Products Then Click: JAZ 2GB Then Click: Windows XP Then Click: More Answers... Then type in "search text" area: "insert a disk" Then Click: Search Then Click: "Please insert a disk into drive X" error message when inserting or trying to read an Iomega disk If that website's search engine doesn't help, you can also log into: http://www.iomegasupportforums.com and ask the tech support people there.
