Headphone pluged in does not cut off speaker in toshiba laptop

Headphone socket is possibly faulty or you are plugged into the mic socket or there is a separate volume control to drive the speakers or the driver is not installed correctly.

Everything is pluged in correctly. And when i go to the control panel> Sounds, speech, and audio devices> sounds and audio devices> volume, it says that their pluged in and work, but i dont here...

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
if his does not fix the problem
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further volume control settings you will need to right click on the volume icon system select adjust volume

click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps you

[logitech 5.1 x-540] my front speakers arent working but i have 5.1 channel sound card

Go through systematically and check all connections. Start at your PC. Is the soundcard set-up correctly? Is it set to 5.1, stereo? Next, look at the wires. Are each of the wires plugged into the correct places? (you may need to refer to an instruction manual for this) At the other end of the wire, are they plugged into the right places on the back of the subwoofer? Are the front satellites plugged into the right places? After this, are the speakers themselves functional?

Usually, I find it's a connection along the way, nothing more serious.

You may have a more serious problem, in which case it would be difficult to fix, but for now, there's a simple check for you.

Well my center speeker is not working but the rest are ok the speeker is ok but no sound . all the wires are pluged ...what can i do?

Do they use a jack plug the same size as a pair of headphones would? if so try plugging them into a radio or CD player to test that the speakers work, if you still dont get sound and your sure the volume and any other switches are in the correct possitions then you will know it is a fault with your speakers, if they do work then there is a fault with your computer outputting sound.

Amplified Speaker System CA-3080 On But No Sound

Hello,
Do you have a walkman, mp3 player, or any other portable stereo that you can test out the speakers?
This would be the 1st thing I would try. Place the plug that you would have normally going to your computer, and place it in the ear jack of the portable stereo or mp3 player. If you have sound, then I would make sure that your plug is in the correct jack in the back of the computer. Usually, the color of the jack is Green but that isn't written in stone. Just look for the speaker out or "out" where the sound card is located.
Try that and see if you get anything.
Get back and let me know and we can go from there.
Good luck.

No Sound

carefully plug back the minijack for the speaker at the out or spk,
normally the sound card has three ports 1. for MIC 2. LINE IN 3.OUT (SPK) - SPEAKER.
carefully plug the minijack for the speaker into the third one - OUT (SPK) - SPEAKER.
in pluging it in, first put on a media clip on the windows media player and carefully plug in the minijack for the speaker and surely you will hear sound.

Computer speakers

Are you sure your in the right slot with the speaker wire at the back of your PC it is the green imput. Make sure that the speakers are pluged in if there is a plug for them.
Sorry for sounding a bit basic I'm sure you have already checked these but sometimes people forget.

The volume may be turned off on the status bar at the bottom left of you destop. This is a small speaker double click it and check that the volume is not turned off.

there is no drivers ar anything for the actual speakers unless there is a problem with the sound card in your Dell.

Will you just check that all the wiring is correct and I will guide you through the trouble shooting to see is there anything wrong in the drivers if everthing is ok wiring wise.
