Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
While i was playing cod 4 and cod waw after playing for a while the screen will get a bunch of vertical black dots. You ca still see the game barely if i backout of the game to the lobby the picture is fine. When I go the xbox marketplace the background is fine but the windows have vertical lines on and are unable to be read I was told the graphics chip but I dont know PLEASE HELP I had the same thing on cod:waw on xbox live. like a grid of black lines that stayed with my movement. then today i get the one rrod on the 4th player slot. f*ck, so i think it could be a bad a/v cable. but then i try that risky 3x towel trick. it puts my box into 3 rrod mode. just gets better. i try that method three times and no luck. then i stand the machine vertical, tap on the left side a few times, and after a few desperate on/offs... im on. but the vertical lines are still there. im going to pick up a new a/v cable in the am and see if that works.

It is possible that its a bad av cable, however if you are getting rrod, there is an internal hardware problem. If you are still in warranty, call microsoft and get it sent in asap, if you are out of warranty then go pick up a new system. If you have a pro or elite system, you can just reuse your hard drive. So you can buy an arcade version(which will likely have newest mother board JASPER) and just put your hard drive assembly on it. There should be instructions on how to remove the side panel/hard drive on microsofts xbox support page.
