Question about Samsung DLP HL-P4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I hope someone could help me with this problem: I purchased a Samsumg DLP 50" TV about 3 years ago, of course i did not get the extended waranty, and the TV started to go bad after the second year. The first problem that I had was tha i had green horizontal lines with sahdows across the whole screen. After searching on dirferent forums, it seemed that the video card had gone bad, which will cost over $1,000 to repair. I did not give up, and i noticed that if I used the TV as a PC monitor, the screen will work perfectly. So i purchase a hardware to concet my digital cable to my PC and projected on my TV as a monitor. At the end, the software was $25.00, a ste of Wireless key board and mouse for $40 and I fixed the problem for a total of $65 I fixed my screen problem and had digital quality TV at no aditional cost. Woks perfet when seein DVS on your PC. Now after 6 moths i'm starting to have a second problem: I now have a Black vertical line on my left side of the TV monitor that seems to be getting bigger as days go by, started at about 1" wide and now is abou 3". Does any one know what could this be? you can still see a picture behind this black line, but it is very dark. Is this the end of my TV, should I finally give up my battle and purchase a new one? Thanks Danny F. I also have green lines and sometimes the picture goes out completely for several seconds. Occasionally when the tv is on and I am watching cable the picture is snowy and then goes blank on and off. If I unplug the power source and plug it back in the problem goes away for several days. One other problem though, I cannot watch DVDs - they are only green wavy lines and no fix found. I did replace the light engine for about $199 a year ago. I will never buy another Samsung.
Check the input board for AVI make sure it is not dusty and that all the connections on the board are good you may have a bad solder point or that board is bad ,also possible video ctrl board
