Question about Stanley Bostitch F21PL Nailer

1 Answer

How do you safely remove jammed nail gun?

We have a brand new bostitch framing nail gun that occasionally keeps shooting out two nails instead of one. The nail gun is now jammed with two nails half-way released and the trigger is locked as a result. Any ideas on how to fix the jam safely?
Thanks.

Not sure exactly what Bostitch framer model you have, but if it is powered by compressed air, as long as you remove the air hose from the nail gun, there should be no risk of the nail gun firing while you remove the jammed nail. There should be a way to access the driver area from the top of the nail gun, even via a latch or a couple screws. Remove the top part of the driver area and that should give you access to the jammed nail, which you can remove. Use long nose pliers or something similar if the nails are really stuck.

when you removed the jammed nail did the piston driver move back into the rear position? if not there may still be a piece of the nail holding the piston.... If the piston is stuck in the forward position with the air disconnected use a hinge punch and tap it back, reconnect air and give it a try

Can My FC 350 A used 28 degree nails

The manual for your gun specifies 34-degree nails from 2 to 3 1/2 inches long. 28-degree, wire collated nails are a Stanley-Bostitch thing and they only work in their nail guns, they will not work in your nail gun. You need 34-degree, paper-tape collated nails. I know Senco framing nails will work in your gun and I think Duo-fast makes 34-drgree nails but check that before buying them.

My nail gun will not shoot nails any suggestions?

could be several problems, are you using the right guage nails, is there a nail jammed in the nose assembly, is the driver bent or broken, I would look for a jammed nail first and if none then I would remove the cap and check the condition of the cylinder and piston. they have a bad habit of breaking the driver blade loose from the piston

My N80SB framing nailer won't shoot the new nails (non-clipped head). What do I need to do?

For a visual on what type of nail you should use go here:

http://packagingandfastening.com/air_stick_nails_28_degree_framing.htm

You will find a list of differnet nails sold that will work on your gun. Bostitch is about the only nailer that uses a welded wire strip of nails. Good luck

I can get he gun to shoot 1 nail but won't load the next nail?

There is a small piston on the side of the magazine that pushes the feeding claw which pushes the next nail into place. Either the feeding claw or piston is stuck or the piston is worn out and needs to be replaced.

F28 ww framinf nailers. 4 relatively new

It sounds like you are using the wring nails. check the recommended nails and the degree of the strips. there is a large variety of degree's available if it is a Bostitch usually 28* is what your looking for. next the gauge of nails need to match and then whether or not they are paper collated or wire. that will cause problems like that all day. hope this helps

you have a problem with the nose or the driver. I would also check for a jammed nail in the nose assembly. let me know what the model number is and I will try and find a breakdown for you.

Will bosch nail guns operate with Paslode brand nails?

The F28WW takes 28Deg nails that are collated with wire, so your nails won't work in that gun. The N80SB is also a 28Deg nailer so your 30 Deg nails won't work in that gun either. Sorry about the bad news but it looks like your going to have to spring for new nails
