You can use you 160gb HDD as slave in your old pc. then coppy your files and save it in the old pc HDD. affet you back up your files you can put back your 160gb HDD in your original pc and you can format it now. hope you can use this one.

Hi Veronica, Create a recovery disc if you have not yet created one.
Make backup copies of your valuable files, then try any of the following:
Restore system files from the latest restore point when your computer was working normally.
Uninstall software or software drivers which are not compatible with your computer, if you have installed such software or software drivers, or, restore the preinstalled software or software drivers to the originally factory condition.
Restore your data from the backup copy made with the Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore feature.
You cannot restore your files which you have changed or created after the backup.
If your computer still does not work properly, recover the computer system.
Another option, "after making a backup disk as above" is to use windows to reinstall all files back to factory settings.
your blackberry got nuked.
i'm sorry to inform you that the data on the phone WILL be lost, when reloading the OS.
there's no way that you can save the data other then the backup you've made a couple days earlier
unfortunally the chips on these circuit boards contain a lot of unique data specific to this disk, such as the mapping data, this specific run of hdd software, translator for data coming in to how it is actually written on the disk. and final fine tuning the disk uses to locate its track, meaning they are not universal , but usually only fit the specific production run.
so in short, it may be possible to lure the data out, but it is a highly specialized task generally not possible to do yourself. data recovery work is very time consuming and highly skilled work, therefor very expensive. this is why its always best to back up critical data on several disks, and ideally on offsite storage server
you may have to reinstall the operating system......the files may be corrupted or a bad virus is inside.....ttry your antivirus scan and see what results it brings about
