Question about Radio Shack Cinego D-1000 Multimedia Projector
For the past year I have been using my Cinego projector and laptop to successfully do a powerpoint presentation course in Driver's education to high school students. This past weekend the SRC button on the projector stopped functioning properly. It would not read the source for the VGA input on my laptop. It kept defaulting back to the DVD status. My Fn and F5 buttons are set correctly. Can you help me solve this problem. Mark Stein Mstein1149@aol.com A friend was trying to run her PowerPoint thru my Cinego. When the SRC button couldn't find it, she went into the "SetUp" menu and unchecked the "Auto Source Select" box. Now it is frozen in "Searching." mode and I won't even respond when I hit the Management Menu buttons. I tried shutting down & unplugging, but it still comes up "Searching." Once I got a small red signal in the lower left corner that looks like a running man with an X thru him. Not encouraging....
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Three (3) things you can try:
1. Lower down the Screen resolution of your laptop as well as the Color quality and the Screen refresh rate before doing the Fn + F5. If it works, adjust thereafter;
2. Do a soft (Factory) reset of your Cinego in the in the Management Menu (credit to Cooljazz); and/or
3. it is just "slow" in sensing the presence of a VGA source as it cycles in its selection, internal DVD, VGA, Composite Video IN. Since it does not have a manual source selection, your only option is to really wait or ...Verify that "Auto Source Select" is enabled in the Management Menu (buttons-Proj/Setup then >/9) and "tap" the "SRC" button on the projector itself to manually initiate the input/source selection.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
