Outside door handle loose - how do I remove inside panel to tighten handle?

The handle on the front of our Fisher & Paykel fridge is loose. To tighten it I have to remove the white panel inside of the SS door. How does it remove

    Hi Jeff
The fridge is a SS Fisher & Paykel E522B.
The outside handle on the upper door has no external fixing places - it sits flush with the door. The only way is to remove the white inner plastic liner and tighten probably a nut.
    Cheers Jon

I had the same problem with this model. Bluntcow is correct, 2.5mm hex screw at the bottom of the handles (the top one is a fair way in).

Depends on the age of the fridge, earlier E522B's had a phillips screw under the cover panels but if its a later one with square handles then the previous answers are correct.

Hi: I hope I'm not wasting your time. I don't recognize your brand of frige as it has symbols on it. But I've never heard of having to remove the liner to get the handle off. Check your manual or look online. I've seen High end friges that use a card to release the handle or require a nudge straight up. I'm sure you checked for small holes in the handle that require a hex wrench to release. Good luck, Jeff

You need to use 2.5 mm (metric) Allen wrench or hex key. The set screw is very tight and difficult to loosen initially. Once both of the set screws are loosened the handle will come off and you can get to the retaining screw. I added a lock washer and used Loctite thread sealer on the screw that secures the bar. Don't put Loctite on the set screw or you won't be able to remove it next time.

How to I change handing of fisher & paykel 2 door fridge

Hello friend
Not your machine but this is how it is done for standard Fridges , They are all similar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEcPVbOjdUE

Extract From the fisher & paykel website user guide ....it seems to be all about the handles.
http://www.fisherpaykel.com/vault/pdfs//pdf_usecares/5339_NZ_AU_ActiveSmart__HR.pdf
Door conversion
If you need to hinge your door on the opposite side we recommend that you call your local
Fisher & Paykel Authorised Repairer or Dealer to make this conversion.
ActiveSmart refrigerator models with silver handles need to be ordered at the point of purchase either with left or right opening doors and can not be interchanged.
All other models need to have an appropriate conversion kit for that model refrigerator.
The kit is available from your Fisher & Paykel Authorised Repairer or Dealer. Full instructions are
included in the conversion kit.
This does not apply to French door mode

I have a fisher & paykel active smart fridge the fridge part freezes everything and wont stop beeping when door open

Your fridge is telling you there is a fault, i'd say one of the 2 fans are not working. If everything is freezing in the bottom of the food compartment then the upper fan is faulty. You have to remove the shelves & remove the rear panel, the fan is in the shute at the bottom, remove, repair the broken wire or replace. Make sure unit is unpluged.

Refer this parts diagram.

You have to remove the screws holding the front panel and access the door handle to replace it. Make sure the mains power chord is taken out from the plug.

Broken door handle on fisher & paykel e388

look for the model number at the front, bottom of the fridge where the door meets the fridge body (eg 22021-D). Go to shop.onlineappliancespares.com.au and either buy the whole handle ($150) or just the broken lugs ($15)

I have a fisher and paykel E522B refridgerator and the door handle is coming off. I need to know how the door handle is attached so I can retighten it

In most case the screws are hidden, some of the handles have a cover that slides up or down, and the others have a little hole cover that have to be popped out and then you can access the screw

Fisher Paykel fridge door handle loose

Yes hello, I had the same problem - similar fridge model.  Mine was the fridge (not freezer) door handle ie. the upper door.  There are no small holes on the bottom of my fridge handle.  Working from the outer door edge, I gently prized loose the plastic trim located under the door.  I didn't take it completely off, just loosened about one quarter of the length, enough to flex the trim downward so that I could then access the phillips head screw that secures the fridge handle from the inside of the door.  The trim will prevent you from using a conventional screw driver to tighten the screw.  I used a screw driver bit which is only 25mm long.  It has an hexagonal end to which I applied a small spanner and voila - the handle is once more secure.  Good luck.
