Bose Companion 3 and Realtek HD Audio Card - No sound

Greetings. I just purchased a computer with a Realtek HD Audio Card. I finally got the Bose Companion 3 speakers to work with it, but it's not working properly. While ALL volume levels are at maximum (Windows, Winamp), I can hear the music as if the volume was low. On ''Sound'' (through control panel) I have the ''Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio'' enabled (and default). The only other two options are: Digital Output Device (HDMI) and Realtek HDMI Output. Both are disabled. I don't think this is relevant but my monitor is connected to my video card using a DVI port. Any help would be appreciated. Regards rpfeynman191 I have the exact same problem, except I have not been able to make the speakers work with my computer. Can you tell me how you set them up please? Thanks in advance.

The speakers work fine with my old computer (Windows XP) but I don't get any sound with my new one (Windows Vista). If I plug in headphones directly onto my cpu, I can hear the song playing but nothing from the speakers. Maybe my speakers are not set up correctly in "control panel"? If anybody can tell me what the correct settings are, I would really appreciate it.

Volume on the Bose Controller is fine and I plugged it into every single jack on the back of the computer and still did not get any sound. When I go to "Control Panel" and test the speakers, I hear the test sound just fine but when I play any song on the media player, I get nothing from the speakers and I know the song is playing because I can hear it if I plug in the headphones. I am running out of options here.

Hi: I'm sure you checked the volume control of the Bose controller. Check where you plugged it in to the back of your computer. Mine has a veriable outpup and a fixed output. I hope this helps, Jeff

Can I hook up the Bose Companion 2 series speakers to my HDTV and get acceptable sound?

Hi,
Well if you currently find the sound of the Bose acceptable and your inbuilt HD TV speakers poor, then the answer is yes. Should you not like the sound of the Bose, plugging them into an HD TV won't make them sound any better :-)

Just use the headphone out of your HD TV to connect. You may find you need to enable the headphone socket/volume via the menu settings on your HD TV

Bose Companion 5 Problems

email support@bose.com or contact a Bose Support Specialist in Germany; or call US support at 1-800-367-4008. Something very odd is happening here. You are using the same laptop, correct? If not, let me know, as there are some things to try. If Bose has a solution, I'd love to hear it.

Can't hear voice of singer on speakers, more of an echo sound

Hello Shemon
Well, there is 2 option here, 1) your sound speakers are not connected corretly or in the right slots on the sound card.
2) your sound card, (internal or external) you have to use the mixer on software to put the right channels for the music you heard. try configuring in control panel, in multimedia devices, the speakers. for 5.1 system, or 2 way speakers or 3
try again
