HP elitebook6930p touchpad not functioning ........ any help

a 2008 built (MFG) PC, Vista is my top guess.(yes?)
sure the cause is only 2 things.
bad software or bad hardware (the classic computer fact !)
so load the drivers from hp.com for your exact PC. there.
if fails
the HW bad, the pad or the cables to it.
in some case the pad may use an internal USB port and that bad.
SW or HW.
also upgrading any old PC, OS to an OS not supported by HP gets you this too, and more. NO OS told no history of OS told.(upgrades)
hp.com is sick today (slug)

it came with XP or VISTA new, still doing that?
if still that both are infected now, they are virus magnets.
if upgrade to w7, then step 2 is get the drivers for W7, if did.

Sticky left mouse key Elitebook 8540W

If it was me, I'd get a can of compressed air and try to blow it out underneath the key first. A soft bristled brush, pushed gently under the key might dislodge something. It sounds like you may have something spilled on your keyboard, so, while you computer is off, unplugged and the battery removed, I'd dip a soft bristled brush in some isopropyl alcohol and run it under the key. I'd repeat this a few times, and leave the laptop off for a few minutes until the alcohol has dried completely to avoid the possibility of a short from being wet.

The cursor on my Toshiba satalight pro laptop has completely disappeared, its brand new and was updated last night, this has been going on since this update

Some symptoms that occur with Toshiba laptop mice include jumping and vanishing pointers.
These situations have occurred after software upgrades have been made.
The problems can often be solved by following basic mouse troubleshooting methods.

Overall, Toshiba laptop mice contain the basic functions characteristic of the USB variety.
Function

The mouse device is used to move, open, delete and otherwise connect with items available on and through the computer monitor.
In Toshiba laptops and many others, the mouse pad replaces the point and click USB mouse device. This enables the mobile computer laptop to be more compact, portable and ready to use.

Features
The mouse pad on a Toshiba laptop is located in the middle, directly below the keyboard.
The control buttons, both primary and secondary are situated below it.
The primary key, on the left, represents the left-click button on an USB mouse device.
The secondary key on the right represents the right-click button on an USB mouse.
This button is used to pull up the short menu of an item after selecting it.

Update Keyboard Driver Many Toshiba mouse issues can be solved by updating the driver.
The driver enables the mouse to function properly. Update the keyboard driver first to increase mouse and keyboard device compatibility.
To complete this task, click "Administrative Tools," accessible from the Start menu.
Next, click "Computer Management," and then select "Device Manager."
Click the "Keyboards" expansion node to bring up the list of installed hardware, and then right-click on the keyboard that is in use.
If the "Update Driver" option is available, click on it.
Otherwise, select "Properties," go the "Driver" tab and press "Update Driver."
Device Manager is a useful tool to update, rollback or uninstall incompatible drivers.

Update the Mouse Driver

Update the mouse driver by following most of the instructions in the above section, "Update Keyboard Driver."
However, after selecting "Device Manager," click the expansion node next to "Mice and other pointing devices."
Select the current mouse device in use and right-click on it.
If the "Update Driver" option is available, click on it. Otherwise, select "Properties" and go to the Driver tab and press "Update Driver."

Check BIOS Fixes

Some older Toshiba laptop models require BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) fixes.
Most of the downloads are available from their website.
Since, the BIOS chip is the liaison between the hardware and software, any issues should be addressed promptly.
Symptoms, such as erratic mouse behavior or the pointer disappearing, are signs of a need for a BIOS fix or driver update.

Compatibility

Toshiba and most Microsoft Windows products are compatible.
This is vital when it comes to updating necessary drivers needed for continual operating system function. The service packs they approve of are listed on their website.

Elitebook 8470p not displaying to remote monitor with KVM

Is the laptop actually detecting an output when the KVM is plugged in? Try forcing output with Windows + P (Vista/7) or a function key (not sure what it is for the 8470p).

HP 2530p EliteBook - touchpad stopped working. Scrolling works except touch scrolling on right side of pad) and right button, but that's all. Wireless mouse works fine.

To access Mouse Properties, select Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound -Mouse.

Mine does that also. Usually it is because one of both have gone into sleep mode and both haven't woke up. I click on the left and right mouse buttons and it usually comes right up.
