Question about Heating & Cooling
Carrier air conditioner FA4ANF030 Unit stopped several days ago and after about an hour I turned it back on and it worked. It quit again. The blower runs but the compressor will not. Drain is OK and fuse is not blown.
It could be the CONTACTOR. It could be dirty and when the system calls to run, the contactor won't make contact and complete the circuit. Worse case scenario, compressor is siezed up. If you hear a clicking noise at the condensing unit where the compressor is located, that could be the overload protector clicking and breaking the circuit if the compressor is seized up. Good luck. I hope it is a contactor or a capacitor.
