Epson Stylus Photo R800 not printing certain color

You may have blocked print head nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group. Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them.

I thru out an epson ink jet and never bought one again. I did not use it that much and the ink dried in the head and it would not clear out.
I toke it apart and soaked it is almost all the solvents from dish detergent lye for denatured alcohol to napa tested it each time and nota so save the frustration buy a new head or a printer instead. where anytime you place new ink the heads are changed too.

Ink shows empty when toner is not even close to empty

there is one thing that if you refill the cartriage and then use again then still ink indicator shows low ink as its' ckt is designed so.

there is no problem you can print easily.
your printer will show correct ink level when you put in new cartriage.

but remember one thing that if your printer stops printing and shows message on computer that no ink in cartriage ,, then you need to reset printer counter, (this resetting process is present in your printer manual)

so no problem in printing, it shows low ink because the circuit inside it is designed soo.

so that you purchase new cartriage.
(remember : you need to reset the counter , refer to manual)

To clean the HP Inkjet print cartridges from the HP Toolbox, using a Windows operating system, perform these steps:
  1. Double-click the HP Toolbox icon on the computer screen.
  2. Click the Printer Services tab.
  3. Click Clean the print cartridges and follow the directions on the screen.
If the print quality improves after completing this sequence once, but the quality is still not quite good enough, repeat procedure. Start at Step 1, or click the Clean Again button on the final cleaning window. If this process does not improve the print quality, the HP Inkjet print cartridges might be low on ink. See the document that is provided with the black HP Inkjet print cartridge for instructions about how to use the ink level sensor to determine if the cartridge is low on ink. Replace the HP Inkjet print cartridges, if appropriate.

C60 says full cartridge is dry

You could try taking out the new ink and putting in the old. Then uninstall the program, delete all reference to Epson in Regedit, then reinstall the program.
Change the cartridge when prompted.
Of course, having messed about with the jet, it may not work now !

A 960 all in one ink jet.

Remove the new ink again. Take a couple cotton swabs, lightly dampen with water. Clean the copper contacts inside the ink holder. Also clean the copper on the ink cartridge. Do not clean the bottom (where the ink comes out). You can wipe this with a lint free clean cloth. Did you remember to remove the protective tape on the new cartridge? Sometimes the tape stays & you have to look close to be sure. There is a firmware update for the A960. Also a good idea to install. Download here: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R77282&SystemID=PRN_ALL_A960&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=5696&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=40&fileid=101359
You can clear a print job by, click the start button, open printer & faxs, right click on the default printer which should be the A960. Click open, click printer, click Cancel all documents.
Lets see what happends after all the above.
