Depending on the software you are using to do the preview...( a word processor, photo software ..etc) the preview is just simply lets you look at the document or picture to see that you have formated it correctly in the main program. You should not try to print from the preview...what you can do is exit the preview function and return to the main software. the go to the file menu and exicute the print command and or do the page setup for the picture or document.

Well, I still don't know what software you are trying to print from. If you can tell me what it is, pehaps I can be more helpful....but, here is something else you can try. open the document or photo...then right click your a( select all )and then either go to the edit function and select copy....then you can minimize the software window you are in and open a different word processor or photo software and once it is opened you can then right click while in the document and do a paste....Then save the file and also you can try printing from the new word processing document or photo software....if this does not work , please give me some information to work with...What are you using in the way of software for opening up the document you want to print???? are you trying to print a picture?? or a word processing page.??? is this something you downloaded from the internet??? etc....Ok, bye for now...and get back to me if it don't work..Also, what ever your doing you do need to select the color option while printing instead of Black and White.. .....I will try to help you solve this...BBill01

My printer -X1185 prints the page with a 3 inch blank area on the left side and some of the right side printing is off the page. This is typical in my e mail page, and even if I center the letter on...

Web site designers create Web pages for display on a monitor, not for users to print on 8.5- x 11-inch pieces of paper. This becomes obvious the first time you try to print a Web page. Content you need may get chopped off by the right printer margin, whereas content you don’t need, such as the site’s copyright information, will print on its own sheet of paper. Fortunately, you can avoid such problems with a little foresight.

Before printing any Web page, open Internet Explorer’s File menu and select Print Preview. The current Web page will appear on-screen exactly as it will print on paper. Scan the preview carefully. If it appears that some content is chopped off by the right margin, click the Page Setup button located directly to the right of the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. In the resulting Page Setup dialog box, adjust the left and right margins so that each is set to 0.25 inches. The extra inch of space you gain by resetting the margins should provide just enough room to accommodate all of the content on most sites. Click OK to save the changes and return to the Print Preview window.

Next, scan the preview to determine which pages contain the content you want to print. Take note of those pages and click the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. Locate the Print Range heading and select the Pages option. Type the number of the first page you want to print in the From field and type the number of the last page you want to print in the To field. For instance, if you want to print just the first three pages of a Web page’s content, type 1 in the From field and type 3 in the To field. If your browser doesn’t have To and From fields, type the range of pages (such as 1-3) in the corresponding field. Make sure your printer has paper and click Print.

Printing from InDesign on mac text is not consistent color, some letters paler than others

Check your separations preview, (>Window>Output>Separations Preview). Most likely the colors you have set up are not correct. You will need to identify the problematic colors and address them within your swatch palette. Very common problem.

My macbook is printing super small since I got a new hard drive a year ago. I have tried everything! Re-installing...scaling, print preview. Please help as I am driving myself crazy and don't want to...

Try checking the accessibility settings on your Macbook. You may have zoom and/or font enlargement on your screen that does not affect your printer.

Also, does this happen with all printing, or only from certain applications? Have you tried printing with a different program?
