Hot motherboard frying hardrive.how to fix this problem.

- The hard drive on this model is in a box.No air can get to it at all so when the motherboard gets hot it radiates that heat toward the drive and in turn heats it up.I have taken the drive out of the laptop and have run it out side of the case.It doesn't get hot at all.I bought a temperature gun to check the temp to see what was getting hot inside the laptop.The board directly above the drive was getting so hot the drive temp just kept rising above 45 and the PC would not run correctly.The fan for the CPU works so it is not the fan.The board gets hot and there is no reason for it to get that hot.I have checked around and that type of laptop gets hot.For whatever reason.I was wondering if a new motherboard would do the same thing if so there would be no need to get a new one.But there seems to be no direct answer to this problem that I can find.I was thinking of insulating the drive from the board,or the board from the drive just in the little section that gets hot above it to see if that would help.
