Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
If this happens only with few games then the disk may be dirty or scratched.
If this happens with all games then the lens is dirty.
An old way for cleaning CD was by washing them under tap water, then dying them with a soft cloth, without leaving hairs. Today you'll better buy a cleaning kit : DVD/CD DISC CLEANER-CD CLEAN SOLUTION.
If disks are really in bad shape try Digital Innovations DvdDR Motorized Disc Cleaner CD/DVD cleaning kit
If the lens is dirty, and you get the problem with all disks or almost, then try using a cleaner disk: Memorex 6 Brush Laser Lens Cleaner Cleaning disk - CD / DVD - PC or Philips DVD Laser Lens Cleaner Cleaning disk - CD / DVD.
If that does not work, then the PS must be taken apart, to clean the lens with extra soft Q-tips and isopropyl alcohol,as water will leave spots on the lens.
However, before taking that step, I will suggest calling Sony and listening to what they have to say.
