I want to put my LPs to an external hard drive, what do i have to do?

Plug your turn table into your input sound card (line in on your sound card) Use a program like Nero Media Player, or any digital recording program ( Sound Blaster or Wave Studio) Tell it to save the file as mp3, that simple. If you are an experienced Computer user and have a Wave Recording program such as Audacity [free] or Adobe Audition [$$$] you can do this: 1. Your record player must have a LINE OUT.....usually go from your stereo receiver [You can get turntables with internal Line outputs...this is what I have...via ebay] 2. Output from Receiver [turntable] must be the small [headphone like plug...used to be called Sony it's the 3/32nd I believe.... 3. plug this into the line in of the sound's the arrow that points INTO the little hole. Now the sound card can read the signal.....but wait...! 4. You must enable the little box in the sound card properties called "Line IN"....put the check mark there. 5. How to get to the Properties? Bottom right of screen there should be a speaker ICON....double click that. Then go to File....Properties....record.....then look for the LINE IN....check it. If you don't see it. Then you have to ask someone in person to help you. 6. If you get it working. Great! 7 Now open a recording program and press record....then play the record. You should see a wave file going across the screen. Then save it as an MP3 file. 8. Advanced tip: if you record at a rate of 59594 instead of 44100 then you can play the 33 1/3 speed at 45 RPM and save about 30% time in recording from a record. Then convert back to 44100 and it will be normal speed. I do this on ALL my LP to MP3 recordings... The above is for more advance type computer users.

Can't Print Notecards

I ran into this problem several times. The way I solved it was I drew an arrow on the side of the paper that faced in and up. When you look at the wrong placement, it will tell you which way to place the paper.

Timing after recording. and midi composing

May I suggest you try to adjust your audio settings inside Sonar. Also it is a good idea to always keep your C drive well defragmented. I once had this problem using Sonar LE and the only way I got rid of it was after formatting my C drive and reinstalling the drivers and Sonar again. After that the problem came back and then I upgraded from the SB Live to Audigy SE.
Make sure you also have lots of free space on your C drive and have a decnt amount of ram.

Not able to record onto Adobe Audition 1.5

Sounds like you do not have your audio recording source set correctly.  If you're recording from a file on your computer or a CD via the CD-Rom drive of your computer, you need to probably set the recording to either "Wave" or "What you hear", one of the two.  The "What you hear" can be easiest, but then again, if any other sound comes accross your computer at the same time, you'll end up recording that as well, so it's best to stick to "wave" if you can... or make sure all Windows sounds are turned off (Audio settings ->Sounds ->Select "No Sounds" as the theme).

Image quality in MS Word

JPEG is a raster image. Every pixel is identified to the computer.
MS Word is resizing the picture to make it fit. When it does this it causes pixels to disappear. This is why you will get blocky images and or unreadable text.

The Solution is

Re size the image and bump the dpi to at least 300. This will add enough pixels to where you won't notice the stair step.

The professional way to do it is with Vector images. This is difficult to do if you are using a photograph. You will need to plot the image out (basically re draw it with lines and bucket fills)

Hope this helps you.

Hi need sound

Certain early models of the Sound Blaster cannot do both MIDI input and wave (audio) output at the same time. Thus, if you've selected "Creative Labs" as a MIDI In device in Cakewalk’s Options | MIDI Devices dialog, wave audio output won't work. Note that MIDI output will work fine along with wave audio output: you can select Creative Labs from the list of MIDI Out devices. The problem occurs only when you've selected the Creative Labs MIDI In device.

Hope that helps!
