Question about Craftsman 25cc Gas Line Trimmer
I have the Model # 358.745501 17" 25cc/1.5 cu.in. 2-cycle Craftsman Weedwacker....When I atart the thing, I squeeze the bulb 6-8 times. With the lever in the START position, I start it and everything is fine. Then I slowly squeeze the throttle (which activates the run position), the thing dies unless I immediately move the lever to the start position. Then it runs smoothly...Got me scratching my head....HELP!
You need to clean the carburetor. Remove and disassemble carb. Use a den Tek Brush, (used to clean between teeth), to clean the small portals in carb. Use a carb. cleaner while cleaning. Make sure the small screen in carb. is free of debris. The smallest of paticles can cause the carb. not to run right. Reassemble the carb. and try starting. If there is no change, then you will need to buy a carb. kit for your trimmer. Replace all appropriateparts: gaskets, diaphragm, needle valve, and the small screen.
