I own a 1997 Mazda Miata MX-5, and have power in the "run" key position, but when i turn all the way to start the engine, nothing happens. I have 11.7 VDC from the battery so it is charged.

Sounds like the starter relay or the solenoid is on the start itself is badSome of the MX-5 also had a fuse for the ignition, check that also.

Ignition will turn but when i turn the ignition nothing it is on a 1996 Olsmobile 88 I just can't find the problem and fix it so wat would it be?

check to see that power is going in and out of switch. chances are the switch ic bad. an ignition switch handles about 50% of total power needs, for a vehicle. one major sign of a bad ignition switch is that dash lights do not come on. vehicle may crank but not start. no current to dash lights, fuel pump etc. also check the big fuse in fuse box for the ignition switch. have a good day !!

sounds like you don't have power going to the red wire. should be a switched power source so it turns off with the key.

No power coming thru power wire to my stereo decks any ideas?

You have two wire of 12V + going to your stereo, one is hot all the time and one comes from the ignition switch ( which turn on the stereo when you switch on the car), if it's the +12V one which is hot all the time, you can take another wire from your car's cigarette lighter 12V outlet. if it's the ignition +12V one, you can trace back the wire to ignition switch and change the wire if it's broken.
Hope it helps and please rate the answer if it was helpful, thanks!

Ignition on 88 jeep yj not working

sounds like your ECM might be bad. Is there anything else that will turn on besides the lights? It could just be a main fuse. I'd start at the interior fuses if any and then go to the main fuse block and check for any loose wires or blown fuses first.

I tried to install a radio but im not getting any power to the stereo when I turn the car on to acc.

ok did you hook up red to ignition and yellow to constant power?

check all the fuses car and back of head unit

if worse comes to it connect red and yellow to geather and send it straight to the positive on the battery with a fuse but u will have to turn the radio on and off by your self not the ignition
