Remove disk or other media

When the laptop comes on it goes through the post then stops and says "remove disk or other media." I did this and it said the same thing after I restarted it.

I was using my laptop suddenly screen goes off anad then i restart my laptop it's turn on but stop at first page with no clue or something show it,s on but with black screen, is it hardware problem?

first re seat your ram and check if not, disconnect your hard disk and power on, after the computer powers on you should get an error saying that your hard disk is missing or check bootable media. this should happen fast after disconnecting the hard disk. and if this is so, then it'll be that your hard disk is failing.

Laptop C partition low disk space

Make sure your hard disk has enough space. Most often when the error massage comes it will tell you how much free space is required to install the game look keenly and know how much space is required then either move all media files mainly video files especially downloaded in the download folder to an alternative partition and only leave windows and installed program on Local Disk C. Other wise if your hard disk capacity is very small then am afraid that you will have to get a bigger hard disk.

Armada m700 working fine. oneday got message 1782 disk controller failure. have tried removing things. will get message even if hard drive & caddy removed. have reset startup sequence have tried with...

disk controller failure - the chip from the laptop's motherboard that's controlling the disks is fried. Nothing you can do - all hd's will be unrecognized - that laptop is dead.
 Buy a new one.

Laptop start up error

This error comes when there is memory issue .
Harddisk issue or RAM issue.
For that if you have windows recovery disk you need to run disk checking program
Most of this error comes becuase of hardddisk error.
Boot your computer with windows xp disk then enter in recovery console mode then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"
then press "y"
then it checks disk andf fix error if found any error on harddisk.
then you can boot your windows.
Thanks for using fixya.
Please rate my solution if it hleps.
Pls let me know if you need more assistanse.
Many Thanks .

Blue screen on start-up saying 'stop: c000007b bad image' etc

Errr...sounds like fun.

OK well I would stop trying to get Windows back in working condition until after you backup your files.

The easiest way is to remove the hard drive from the system and place it into a usb enclosure.

Backup the files and then reinstall windows.

If you try the band-aid method you'll just end up wasting your time.

Hope this helps.

Acer won't boot up

Hi,
when any computer posts/boots up.
it goes through a sequence of initialising things before booting.
i,ve been repairing computers for around 12-15 years.
1st i,d try removing the ram ( memory ) usually underneath the laptop, behind a screw cover. Or ocassionally under the keyboard.
if 2 sticks of ram are installed, remove the battery. and 1 stick of Ram. put battery on and try to boot. if no joy with that try the other stick of ram. and replace battery-Re-boot.
If this works you have 1 stick of faulty ram or faulty ram slot on motherboard. Failing this. I suspect that the CPU has overheated, and therefore a replacement Processor should solve the problem.

Thankyou for using fixya.

Stuck Media Card in the Machine

same thing happened here. Hubby was able to remove memory card by inserting a VERY small screwdriver under the memory card and catching on an indentation. He was then able to remove the disk from the slot.
