I have an NEC Ready 7022 that supports intel speed up to 166MHz. I currently have installed a P100. But my problem is that my motherboard is a SOCKET 5 motherboard and would like to know what type of socket does a Pentium 166MHz uses. Also the Voltage. Thanks

Socket 5 supports the OVERDRIVE MMX 166 part. You should be able
to use that.
Socket 7 supports the Overdrive MMX 200.
The OverDrive(R) Processor Upgrade Guide at
http://www.intel.com/overdrive /upgrade/index.htm
contains a list of systems that are compatible and not compatible
with the OverDrive processors. If your system is not in the Upgrade
Guide.
Intel does not have sufficient information about your system to include
it.
If you want to pursue this on your own I encourage the following be done
before you buy:
1. Run the bios check at
http://www.intel.com/overdrive /upgrade/bios/index.htm and if failing
seek a bios update from the board manufacturer. Successfully passing
this test does not
guarantee that your system is upgradable with the Pentium(R) OverDrive
processor with MMX(TM) Technology. It is only an indication that the
likelihood of
encountering a problem due to a BIOS incompatibility is low. There may
be other
incompatibilities with the BIOS that cannot be detected through a
software program.
2. Follow the recommendations on the unbranded system upgrade guide at
http://www.intel.com/overdrive /upgrade/unbrand/index.htm
3. Confirm minimum Socket 7 specifications if applicable. Look at
http://www.intel.com/overdrive /upgrade/unbrand/socket5.htm

Which part of socket 5 did you not understand???
http://www.intel.com/overdrive /upgrade/unbrand/socket5.htm
Anything from 75 Mhz to 166 Mhz works with socket 5
Socket 4 is the old 60/66 Mhz original pentium.
200 Mhz Pentiums usually need Socket 7 because of DC current
limitations of early designs.
