It depends on how YOU have it installed. It will slide out of the case and the new one MIGHT fit into the same case. This is trial & error. If not, slide the guts out, remove the case, install the new case & slide the new unit into place.
If it's a window unit, just remove the whole thing and replace it.

My exist. unit is a very old sears coldspot through the wall mounted in a 12x18 in.exact sleeve. Can i remove unit and replace with FRA052XT7 ?. Exist sleve is vented on both sides & back. This is...

Get rid of the old stuff, too big to be used
Newer unit can't be inside the old sleeve as you call it

Just install the new unit how you see fit, to seal
it up

5000BTU is too small

A 7,200,8,000 or 10,000 BTU is the same size & about
the same price.

Does a window unit have to be in a window? can i put it in the house?

A window unit is designed to have the side with the controls in the space which is to be cooled and the other side to be outside. If you simply put it on the coffe table, blowing at you, you may feel cooler for a little while, but the heat of the fan motor and compressor added to the heat from the outside coil, will raise the temperature of the room.

Best bet is to put it in a window or to have a sleeve made for a through the wall installation.

Aftermarket injector kit is slightly different than stock on my 96 5.7L 350 vortec. is there anything i need to do differently? my stock ones clip in to the lower intake and the new one doesn't have clips....

nomoredodge,

Have you tired fitting the old clips to the new rail (injectors)? If this is possible, than great. Also, the sleeves may have to come off, but try it with them on first. If anything seems to be afoul while the truck is running and/or driving (don't drive far) then remove them, and try again with them. If you are in any doubt at all, I suggest inquiring with whomever you purchased the new injectors.

Cordially,
