URGENT: How can I connect my tv to my NEC VT695 projector?

Do you want to duplicate the image going from the source to the projector on your TV? If so, then if your TV has a VGA port, just use the monitor Out on the projector. If your TV doesn't have a VGA port, you'll need an appropriate converter. (Avoid a VGA to component video or VGA to composite cable.) If you add a comment with more information on the inputs for the TV (or the model of the TV), then I will try to point you to the correct converter.

If you want to get your TV signal to the projector, you would need a set-top box (cable, satellite, digital tuner) as the source. Most TVs do not have a video output. You can connect a computer or DVD player to the projector.

The manual and quick guide for the VT695 are available from NEC here: http://www.nec-display.com/dl/en/pj_manual/vt695_491.html . The direct link to the English language version of the manual is http://www.support.nec-display.com/dl_service/data/manual/english/vt695_491_manual_e.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Need to adjust the brightness. The projection is too dim to see clearly in a classroom.

Appears bulb is burning out ?
If this is a replacement bulb, is it a proper replacement ?
Not all bulbs are dim-able.

How do you connect the NEC VT560 to project tv pictures

if you have a cable or sattelite box, or a tv with a video output, connect the video output from the box or tv to the video input on the projector. if you have a tv without a video out, you cannot watch tv and change the channels on the projector.

the expected lamp life is an average .. its not unusual to see early failures ... check the lamp connections to make sure they are secure ... check ventilation to make sure its not blocked by dust .. if there is a fan, make sure its working ..

Nec VT595 shows only wallpaper

It could be the laptop settings. You have to clone the output of you video card. You might have extended desktop setting selected. See if your mouse shows up when you scroll it across the screen. (go all the way left or right) . If you have questions you can call me 1-646-441-5254 Hope this helps.

Firmware update, yes or use component video. HDMI has embedded copy protect and is really an aggravating connection. Consider this, hdmi's benefit is embedded audio, your projector does not need this. Component video will meet you needs because the projector is not real high on res. Good luck

its a common problem of the video hardware in the laptop - it hasnt the ability to split the video "overlay" (often its decoded by something in the video chip, or at least a seperate bit of software and output seperate from the usual, slower windows & images data stream) off to the second screen & you just see the frame of the player.
if you set the external output to be the main/primary, or sometimes only active screen, it should work. you might also have a chance if you make it an extended desktop rather than a cloned one, then moving the player window entirely onto the projector's "screen"

Multi-media projection without image

A great deal of the time DVD players are very restrictive on outputting to multiple sources due to copyright protection. In my experience, if you use your laptops function keys to toggle output (For example, on my laptop, I hit FUNCTION + F4 to cycle between LCD,LCD+VGA,VGA), you should be able to disable the laptop's LCD display, only outputting via the VGA cable. It's worked for me with my HP VP6111 and Windows XP in the past. Hope this helps!
