Epson r220 print head goes left and then makes a grinding sound when all the way left . then two red lights blink till i restart the printer and it repeats the same thing over. I do not think its resetting problem as the printer is newer

Your printer needs a service reset. Epson printers will only accept x number of cartridge changes / print head cleans. Basically it's telling you that the waste ink pad is saturated. It will cost about £30.00 from a local service centre

Horizontal lines appearing on the print out

Sounds like 1 or more ink jets are not printing. Try a head print test & then if errors are there do a head clean. These functions can be found in the maintenance tab.

Epson R220 won't print. Paper feeds through OK, print head moves as if printing but no ink comes out. Tried several sets of cartridges and this makes no difference. Cartridges are recognised fine and no...

Nothing at all? Problem with micropiezo (micro pump) at head. But you said, replaced print head. So it might just lost electricity to head (problem with board).

Epson r220 prints black lines through photos ect anything I print

The problem caused by waste ink at bottom plate arround head sprayer. Clean it. Turn off printer. Move head to center. Put wet tissue (with warm/hot water) upper head cleaning pad. Move head to right (parking position). wait for 10 minutes. Repeat it for 2-3 times. Check nozzle.

I need to clear the inkjet heads on my Epson Stylus R220.

Follow the steps below to clean the print head using the Head Cleaning utility.
Make sure that the printer is turned on and the ink out light is off. Access the printer software. Click the Maintenance tab, then click the Head Cleaning button. Follow the on-screen instructions. The power light flashes while the printer performs the cleaning cycle. Never turn off the printer while the power light is flashing. Doing so may damage the printer. When the power light stops flashing, load a few sheets of paper and click Print Nozzle Check Pattern in the Head Cleaning dialog box to confirm that the print head is clean.

Epson r220 printhead cleaning

Helps to turn the printer off when not in use as the heat tends to dry out the ink. Sometimes the heads just quit and have to be replaced. If you are sure it's just blocked remove it and flush with soft water, then buy some windex window cleaner, make a solution of 100 mls cleaner 200 mls soft water and soak overnight , flush with soft water and shake dry, hope it works.
