It worked okay with the analogue signal but when digital TV was introduced I don't have line-of-sight to the transmitter. I tried to auto setup the TV channels and naturally it didn't find any. Now when I try to use the timer record I get a message that says 'try channel setup first', and the only option that I have is 'yes'. Since all of my viewing is via Foxtel, and I can watch and record through the AV setting, how can I convince the machine that it can timer record from AV?

cable or Ant.. ? after the scan if there is no channels found (0 digital, 0 analog) then try with cable or Ant to see if any of them work.. if they still don't pick up any channels and the whole yellow progress line goes across.. then it sounds like the tuner on the tv is bad.. and the tuner is part of the main-board so the whole main-board will have to be exchange or repair.. contact Amergence technology they are a 3rd party repair center that service Olevia TV's and they will be able to give you an idea on the repair cost..

SOURCE: no digital yet tried to retune but greyed out.
Just got through to Samsung support. Turns out the freeview card had frozen and needed a reset. To do this put tv on standby. then press in serries these buttons on the remote: 'info' 'menu' 'mute' 'power' TV will then turn on with a default screen. Press 'arrow down' button untill you reach option 12 'reset' . then push the 'right arrow' and tv will reset and start in plug and play mode and commence a scan when you've set the time. Just retuned mine and its back to normal. Hoorah!!! :-)

To fix the problem, try turning off the TV and unplugging it from the outlet. Once unplugged, push the power button and hold it down for 1 minute. Then turn the TV back on and rescan for channels.
If the problem persists, contact LG customer service immediately as there is a problem with the memory card. The device is unable to retain scanned channels for immediate feedback.
All LG LCD automatically comes with a 1 year manufacturing warranty. You would have to provide proof of purchase to show when it was purchased. Hope this helps. The Guru
