N 73 problem connecting with PC

1. Connect your device to your computer
2. Run the installation program from your computer. The installation program will prompt you to install the software application to your device using ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center.
3. Select whether to install the software to the device memory or to your memory card

Please make sure you are not using any application and that insall in Memory card, Check any start up application is running, close that all application and try again. otherwise restart your mobile.

if your memory card has been corrupted say with a virus, it is best to clean your memory card with a good antivirus. You can try to retrieve your files by downloading an application on the internet for free. Or an option is insert your memory card to a card reader, then connect the card reader to your laptop or desktop. Then open the command prompt. On the command prompt window type: chkdsk (drive that reads the card reader):/r
So it will look like this c:\user chkdsk f:/r then wait until it is 100% repaired then exit the command prompt then check your memory card and the files inside it.

Use Nokia PC Suite, not only get data from your phone memory card, you can also install application and games or back up your contacts by this software.
- First download the software from here :

- Install the software
- Open PC Suite and click connect any device
- Connect your phone via USB cable or bluetooth
- if its connected, you'll see your phone folder in Windows Explorer

Make sure that your mobile is having memory card inside it and is working fine.
Install the s/w came in a cd with your mobile phone.
Just connect your mobile to cable and them to computer. If anything is prompted on the mobile screen, select file transfer/ storage / mass storage mode ( may vary and if applicable).
you should be getting some extra drives in My computer, just like c:, etc using which you can access the files present in your mobile phone and can transfer the files to your mobile.

Most of the mobiles will prompt the user to select the mode of connection when connected to computer such as "Mass storage mode/data transfer mode" and "PC suite/modem mode". If you select the "Mass storage mode/data transfer mode", then only your mobile phone's memory card is connected to your system just like pen drive. so only the pictures present in momory card can be accessed. For transfering pictures from phone memory, try the following methods,
1. Go to your file manager in mobile phone, move the pictures from your phone memory to memory card.
2. Install proper PC suite for your mobile, connect to system in phone mode/modem mode/pc suite mode. Then using the PC suite file manager in your system, oyu can access files stored on to phone memory as well as memory card.
3. Connect a bluetooth dongle to your system, establish a bluetooth connection to your mobile. Threw bluetooth file manager from your system, you can browse the phone memory of your phone.
I hope any of the above tips may solve your problem.

You can use an application that make your mobile’s camera act as webcam. Here is an application "SmartCam" for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Now you can use your mobile as a webcam for your PC.
There are two ways (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) to connect to pc.

You can download the files from here. Simply unzip the files on your pc. There is one .exe file and one .sis file. Run the .exe file on your pc and then run .sis file on your mobile.
Bluetooth:

Connect your mobile from pc using Bluetooth. Make sure your Bluetooth is on. Just do the pairing of your mobile and pc and start using your mobile as webcam.

Wi-Fi:

You can initiate the Wi-Fi connection from pc in case you don't have Bluetooth on your pc. Open the installed Smartcam application on your pc and then go to File -> Settings -> Connection -> TCP/IP (Wifi) and make sure the settings for Port is Port:9361

Now start the SmartCam application on your mobile phone and go to Options -> Connect -> TCP/IP (Wi-Fi). It will prompt for Server Name. Fill the IP address of your pc (Use ipconfig command on command prompt to know your IP address). Now the application will prompt you to connect to the Internet, choose Wi-Fi to connect to the internet.
