Question about Iomega 1TB Desktop USB 2.0 Hard Drive
Hi, I have purchased a Maxtor Basics external portable hard drive (80 GB) today. However, I cannot see the HD getting connected to my laptop.I have connected both the connectors to my laptop for power and data as instructed. I am having a Compaq presario V2000 laptop with Windows XP. Kindly help. After accidently removing the USB cable my USB hard disk is not getting detected.
Right Click on My Computer, click on Manage, go to Disk Managment, if the drive is available you will see it there. Check to see if it has a drive letter assigned to it, if not right click on it and choose Change Drive letters. Make sure you are on the external drive though, you don't want to change your C drive accidentally. It should pop up in My Computer.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
