Question about ViewSonic N2750w 27 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Open Question

Viewsonic N2750w power supply unit problem

I have a N2750w with no CCFT lighting up. inverter has tested O.K. and the display shows content via flashlight test on screen.
the P.O. had problems with the orig. FSP204-2F01 psu and installed a new FSP204-2F02 by cutting off the 2 main wire harnesses that go to the psu and hardwired them in. ( Yikes ! )
the result was all other functions O.K. except for the above no CCFT and sold it to me in disgust, including the orig. problem psu
if anyone has a VS10576-1M ( mine has build date Sept. 2005 ) open and handy, I could really use some info.

1. is a FSP204-2F02 compatible and if you got one to work in this model, could you give me the CNS connector pinouts to wire color code harness connections? ( I want to check the P.O. wiring job and he left no schematics and can`t offer any help. )
2. if someone has the orig. 2F01 in place, could you give me the same pinouts and wire codes for the orig. CN1 CN2 and CN3 psu/wire harnesses? the P.O stripped all the harness to psu connectors.
3. with pinouts/codes in hand, can any local repair shop rebuild orig, psu?, or should I send it to FSP ? ( if they still do repairs )
I would feel better with the orig psu and connectors in place if possible.

the viewsonic service manual gives no detail and
I asked viewsonic for the above and have had no reply.
there is a chance the actual CCF tubes are gone, but this psu issue seems the logical place to start. if this site allows, pictures would be perfect.

Thanks for any "light" shed on this,
`n` Best Regards,

SOURCE: No picture on N3250W viewsonic

I just had a viewsonic supply all apart with a blown capacitor, I believe c36. q7 a surface mount npn transistor on the solder side of board was shorted. Replaced cap and transistor, set works fine. Also, check all your electrolytics on this board as they sometimes swell and go bad.

wow 2010 year talks to 2017, now that IS MAGIC
ok stutz
hp 6715b let see what you are talking about.
so the screen never onces shows text ever, rigth (a key fact)?
not getting past HP boot up screen means to me windows unstated
XP or VISTA new... so ?
OS login screens are dead, that is booting OS,
BIOS kinda is booted, the processor executes BIOS directly, hard coded in the processors. since 1981.

that is correct bios is first.
for 10 long years, this pc booted and showed you
Hit Esc (or F10) to enter SETUP (hp name for BIOS is silly)
BIOS IS ROM , BOIS WORKS with the HDD and CD drive removed
first lets read your service manual.
see link at end.
Page 101 covers this and tells you to hit F10 at power on,
hammer it, BIOS screens must POP
the hit F1 see the huge info page there, all do that.
  1. main battery is bad and shorted.
  2. or Coin cell dead as all do 3 to 7 years old, like this one is.
  3. the CCLF lamps or its inverter is dead.
test 1, power on , hammper F10
while shinnging flashlight on the screen

data means (words or graphics of any kind)

My monitor shows a blank screen .But when I press the RGB, DVI button, I can see my desktop for a second then it stops displaying. I have to keep pressing the button to change the display type in order to...

moneyshaker, Maybe your screen (LCD panel) is not blank, just BLACK!!! First thing to do is the flashlight test! With monitor connected to a KNOWN GOOD fully booted pc with WIN-desktop showing, reconnect N9 lcd to pc. Then and only then turn on N9 lcd. Note what you see or don't see!! If screen flashes on for 1 sec and goes to BLACK, then shine a bright flashlight 1" form screen at different angles and note if you see or don't see the desktop. This is only a test to check the condition of the unit's power supply and or INVERTER circuit. If you can still see the desktop even though the screen appears BLACK, then the "switch-mode-power-supply" is only partly bad. You did not state age of your unit? Most likely your problem is that the SMPS is detecting a fault in the INVERTER circuit that provides 800 to 1200 volts to light up the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-tubes" that are hung on the rear of the Clear Glass LCD panel and in front of a mirrored reflective surface. GEE wiz If I could take these long, straight, CCFT's and turn them into coils and mate them with an electronic ballast circuit called a CONVERTER circuit (ac to ac) and put them into an oversize light bulb screw-in base I could make millions.... Oh ****, That's already been done!!!! Oh! so that's how those new CFL lamps work. I suspect that your INVERTER (dc to ac) has almost bit the dirt. It will need to be looked at by a tech type person or you could visit Youtube and chcek for video clips that deal with monitor disassembly and or repair of the 2 most common LCD monitor failures. Look under "swollen electrolytic filter capacitors" and BAD capacitors, and Poor soldering and /or poor factory oven REFLOW SOLDERING and or Thermally intermittant soldering connections on printed circuit boards. This is only a guess as to what plagues you monitor. Please rate this response on fixya if it was of any help at all. im'louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @aol .com

No picture and ligh just plinks

kathleen2002, If no picture, then do flashlight test! Six words and no punctuation will not garner much help on fixya here darlin. Tell us more. We need to know how old the unit is and or number of hours use. Did unit work perfectly the day before? Does this monitor get power from a "black lay on floor brick" or does it power up direct from wall outlet? When it worked last, did it have a bright, crisp image displayed on the LCD panel? If you are not a technician familiar with LC display technology you will NOT be able to repair it. As a consumer/user, your options are very limited. 1. NEC warranty if covered. 2. Cash+old monitor swapout with NEC for a refurbished 1550V w/new CCFT/inverter/SMPS. 3. Local Technician to refurbish your unit with new cold-cathode-fluorescent-tubes+Inverter supply repair if required and test unit's switch-mode-power-supply. 4. OR just trade up to a new and younger model. Bye for now. louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel

I have sound but no picture on my 32 inch LCDHD TV/DVD. Picture flashes for a second an then the screen goes blank. Thanks Bill

This problem is caused by one of thee problems.
1) The inverter board(s) is bad.
2) Power to the inverter board(s) is off.
3) The CCFT(cold cathode fluoresent light) is bad.

Since the picture flashes for a second you may also check for loose connections for the above items.
Here is a simple test you may also try. With the TV on take a bright flashlight and press it against the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight. This will verify that an image is being sent to the screen.

It looks like you may have one of three problems.
Take a bright flashlight and place it against the screen. If you see an image around the edge of the flashlight then;
1) The inverter board is bad.
2) The CCFT (cold cathode fluorescent light) are bad.
3) The power supply to the inverter is bad.

Faint or no picture on olevia / syntax tv model LT-37HVS

When you tune to a station and get sound I presume the screen is black so do the following.
Place a bright flashlight against the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight.
If you see an image the problem is probably one of three causes.

1) Power to the inverter board is bad.
2) Inverter board has failed.
3) The CCFT(cold cathode fluorescent light) are dead.

Someone knowledgeable in electronics can diagnosis it.

No picture just a blue line across and its not the cable

You may take a strong flashlight and place it against the dark areas of the screen and look around the edge of the light. If you can see an image moving around, it is still being 'displayed' on the entire screen.
If its still there, it looks like an Inverter/CCFT problem. If the image is 'gone' or compressed into a single 'line' it may be the LCD controller (TCON) with a 'heat' or intermittent problem.
You may try a fan blowing on the vents on the TV to see it runs longer without going bad.

TV was playing, then the screen turned black.

If the screen is black and you have sound then lightly press and shine a strong flashlight against the screen. If you see an image around the edge of the flashlight, an image is being 'displayed'. The problem is probably in the Inverter/CCFT or the power going to the Inverter.

Sound yes, but no picture on tv

If you have sound on the stations this is a problem in the display. Take bright flashlight and hold it against the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight. If you see an image then it's one of three problems;
1) The inverter board is bad.
2) The CCFT (cold cathode fluoresent light) are bad.
3) The power supply to the inverter board is bad.
Someone knowledgeable in electronics can replace the bad part(s).
