Question about Saws

Miter saw seized

Was using a craftsman miter saw 10", and the degree changing lever is seized. It was working fine, then I couldn't change it anymore. Is this a common problem, or is the chop saw hooped.

Grit gets inside and binds it up, try blowing it out with air gun or canned air then lubricate with wd 40 this usually works. sometimes u have to loosen up the parts or disassemble to clean more thoroughly. regularly blowing out and Teflon lube works best to avoid this issue

You may look up to ebay or search on google. I actually order band saw parts with www.bandsawparts.com but I think they don't have the miter gauge for your bandsaw model.

I bought the 10" compound

I have been in the same situation in the past, with a mastercraft miter saw to a point of using playing cards to get that nice tight miter joint. placing the cards between the fence and the piece i was trying to miter.Rioby makes mastercraft all thought they are a good saw they have their limits to the precisions of their cuts. good for fences, decks, stuctural framing ect, were a degree two is not a big thing, but when making furniture or interior trim work or picture frames or hobby craft you need to buy a good pro saw like a dewalt or bosh sliding compoud miter saw they may cost more **** their worth the money they are very precise and will last a life time if taken care of .It will be worth the money when you get that perfect cut every time you use it,it will put the JOY and fun back in your projects and not to mention qualaty in your master pieces.

How to change the blade?

I don't know if this will help you much but I've got a DeWalt 14 inch chop saw and a 10 inch miter saw and they both have a small lever on the right hand side of frame just behind blade If you depress this lever and slowly rotate blade until it drops into place this locks the blade for changing. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

I have a Contractor's Craftsman 10 " table saw, #113.29884, that will not tilt to a true 45.degrees. It starts to bind up at about 43 degrees and refuses further tilt just shy of true 45 degrees. Thus four...

yes there is, first I would unplug the tool and tilt on its back and thoroughly try and clean the debris from the undercarriage. Then go to managemyhome.com and download a manual for this, I was looking at page 55 and it talks about how to reset the saw to make square cuts. Let me know if you need more assistance

The table binds when I rotate it to change miter settings. When I cut miters(45 degree) I'm not getting straight cuts along the edge. The saw is on a plywood base mounted to a Dewalt miter saw stand. I...

Could be the wear plates under the table between it and the base. Or if it doesn't have any then the two mating surfaces are dry and rubbing causing this problem I would suggest going to Dewaltservicenet.com and typing in your model number and downloading a breakdown for the tool. To remove the table on most saws you have to remove the fence and that requires that you square everything up upon disassembly. Let me know and I will try and help further. By the way to clean the parts I use a surface conditioner with something like a scrubbing pad and then after everyting clean use a dry silicone lubricant or equivelant.
