The navigation buttons in my HD 500 do not work .what do I do please help

Then you either have a blown amp or speaker. Turn the amp off and move the wires from the speaker on the working side to the other speaker. If the other speaker works, you have a dead amp channel. if it does not, move the wires from the speaker on the non-working side to the other speaker. If that works, you have a dead speaker. Dead amp channel means take it to the shop. Dead speaker means buy a new one from Line 6 and install.

With all your plugging in of unsuitable stuff into sockets not designed for them there is a very good chance you'll have blown parts of the mixer. It is apparent you have little idea of what an insert is or the difference between a line and a mic in (or between an in and an out for that matter) I would strongly suggest you stop playing and probably causing damage, read the manual from cover to cover, and if you don't understand it find someone who will help you. I'm sorry but you really are not helping yourself at the moment.

It sounds like the pots need replacing if re-soldering didn't work. i would take it to a Line 6 authorized service center.

I've had both very good and very bad customer service from Line 6 over the years, Personally, Id take it back to GC and have them explain what you need.That way if it's a case of a defective item, they can replace it on the spot,

In the navigator display in the upper right corner of the face, after holding the tap switch or the tap footswitch for over two seconds the display will indicate your tuning. Strike an open string and the left end of the display will show you the note. Then there will be left and right arrows on the screen until you adjust your tuning for that note. When in tune for that note, two asterisks will be displayed in the center of that display.

Read your manual on the page with the "Smart FX" at the start.

Hi, befarms. The line 6 FBV Express allows you to select the A B C D in the existing/current bank. You will not be able to change the current bank, disable or enable the effects.
What you can do is, save the preset on the bank number that you desire by holding down the channel button on your amp whether it is A B C or D. Then when the button flashes, you can reinsert or rename the preset and save it to the channel(or bank) that you wish for by scrolling to the bank number and pushing the button on the amp (A B Cor D).
Therefore, you will be able to save your personal setting to a specific bank and channel.

The unit has internal fuses. You have to take it apart. If the fuse is blown you more than likley need some service. You can call Pro Line Music 215-736-8055

As you know, when you plug in your headphones, the amplifier cuts the sound to the external speaker, routing the signal through your headphones instead.

When you accidentally pulled the headphone plug from the jack, it apparently damaged the jack, which has the relay attached that routes the sound to your headphones.

Replace the jack, and everything may be OK. I say may be, because the jack is attached to a circuit board in these line 6 ampllifiers, and if you have damaged the circuit board, you will have to send it to line 6 to be repaired.

The downside is if it is not under warranty, it is an out of pocket expense, and Line 6 will not even give an approximation on how much a fix will cost. I have gone through it with Line 6 in the past, so I am very aware of the procedure. It is also a limited warranty, and they may not cover this particular damage.

However, if you are straight with them and they feel obliging, they may fix it under the warranty, if it is still active on your amp.

I had a spider 2 x 12, which was switching between amp models by itself, and they told me that because it was not under warranty, that I might want to consider NOT sending it to them, and just buying another amp. I didn't like that advice, because they seemed as though they didn't care about retaining my business.

Now, something to consider is taking it to a reputable amp repair shop (preferably one that is Line 6 authorized), and see what they can do. Maybe your clip is just bent, not allowing it to spring back from the contact switch that cuts off the main speaker. It could be a very inexpensive fix, but you need to have a shop actually take a look at it up close and personal.

Good luck. I, for the most part, enjoy Line 6 products, and their excellent distortions. Just remember, their amps tend to have a LOT of problems. You can find sites that list many many dissatisfied Line 6 amp owners. All that electronics (on board effects, soft buttons and switches, etc.,) make them vulnerable.
Now I mainly use my old reliable Marshall 1/2 stack with my Line 6 pod, as well as quite a few other pedals.

You would be amazed by the fact that you can still get pretty good money for a broken line 6 amp, maybe get something with less bells and whistles to break, and go with off-board effects pedals and processors.

Please excuse me for adding my own opinions, I am quite well versed in this type of advice having grown up in a luthier / guitar shop and have been playing for 38 years.

Good luck with everything, and if all goes right, adn it is just bent, it may cost you as little as a few dollars to fix. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
