Perhaps mouse will operate correctly if: 1.- Install a fresh new battery 2.- Push down connecting buttons in mouse and receiver 3.- Plug in receiver in USB port 4.- Take off battery 5.- Push down the small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed at the bottom of the mouse. 6.- Release the button simultaneusly when installing back the battery Good luck!!! Dropped laptop while in hibernation mode

sounds like your luck may have run out

dropping a laptop would usually cause a hard drive head crash, and that sounds exactly what you are experiencing

do a data recovery on the hard drive

get a new drive

install and configure

restore data from disks from recovery vendor

hope that your laptop does not attempt high dive in future

back up data consistently

The in build mouse of my laptop is no funtioning again. how do i go about it

You have to tell us the brand and model of your laptop. Anyway, in new laptops there is a button close to the mouse that can be used to enable/disable the mouse. Find it press it once.
If it doesn't work, go to control panel, locate mouse (under hardware), and change the settings to see whether it is working.
In laptops it is not actually a mouse, but a touch pad.

Everytime I lock my computer, shut the lid or leave it untill it goes black, it will not come back on when I touch the mouse pad. However when I got this laptop it worked and when I opened the lid and...

Well by default Closing the Lid will cause computer to go to Sleep mode and you can't wake it up using mouse. However you need to press power button to wake it up.
But as you said it was working the way you explained then seems like Power settings on your computer are changed
To check the settings Got0 -Control panel and click on power Options Goto - Advanced and find the Lid open/close actions You can change it there If you don't want your computer to goto sleep mode with the lid close, you can simply disable it.
Hope this worrks

Lite is on but mouse does not move cursor, what do I do, this is the first time I have used the mouse in a year and never used in with this laptop.

Make sure you have new batteries and that there are no power cables close to the mouse or receiver, I have seen this cause problems many times.

Try pressing the connect button on the receiver then keep pressing the connect button on the mouse until the receiver light stops flashing.

Sometimes the connect button is under the battery cover for the mouse.

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 5000 keeps opening and closing the windows start menu once connected

Did you try the following.
Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Is your back button stuck under the left click button? Mine did this, simply pry up on the let click button and it will release.
