Red light blinking

When it popped something went, you likely will not see it as this usually is a part that is covered with a metal heatsink, that aside either open it and look for signs on the power board including puffy caps or if not able to safely do that get an estimate here.

not really any way around this, someone has to at least look and then use test equipment to see if voltages etc exist---the nature of these sets (all brands) is they only sell the circuit boards.

Typical bad filter caps

Heard a pop when I turned on tv and now nothing

don't leave it on and have it looked at---most likely is if it uses a lamp that may be the problem but if not it may be in the power supply.

I own a Samsung HL-R5067W 50'' DLP. Set is about 3 years old. Recently I heard a loud pop while viewing, picture distorted, but never went blank. I turned set off. When turned on again a loud whining noise...

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.

No Picture, Power light Blinking 3 times then repeats

3 times blink shows lamp cover is removed or not installed properly on TV.
Please take out lamp inside TV and check, seems its broken as you heard loud pop.
Thanks.

unplug the set for over an hour, if the same thing happenes you will need service. Look at the power light, it should be blikning. If you count the # of blinks between pauses it will tell you the problem

A loud POP then no picture...now no power

Check the High Voltage transformer ( Flyback transformer ). I have also found a bad High Voltage Wire ( the big red wires coming from the voltage combiner devise to the picture tubes). Since the set is now dead also, you may also need to look at the fuses and also check the Horizontal Transistor. Good luck. This may be a timely and harder repair.
