My Epson Stylus NX400 won't recognize any of the ink cartridge after I performed a head cleaning and nozzle check option. There are still ink inside and they are original genuine ink. What should I do?

Did you remove the ink cartridge when you did the head cleaning and nozzle check, if so, did you touch the copper circuit chip on the cartridge? . . The chip is normally what tells the printer how much ink is remaining in the cartridge and if it cannot read this, it may not recognise that the cartridge is genuine and still has ink remaining inside. . . .You can try cleaning the chip with a soft dry cloth otherwise you may have to install a replacement cartridge. . . Epson Printers are sensitive in terms of Ink Cartridges.. The latest Epson Printers does not have ink reseter.. Ink reseter are already built-in on the ink cartridges.. The problem on this printer is when you have a cartridge on your printer, let say, 30% of the ink level, even though your ink is new, and you change it without using the right ink replacement method, it will recognize your ink as a 30% ink level. When your ink level drops to 0%, but you have remaining 70% of the ink, it does not recognize it anymore. The chip on the ink cartridge is already registered as an empty cartridge.

My epson nx400 getting message cannot recognize ink cartridges its new out of box replaced magenta after only printing 6 sheets of paper i am using epson inks.

Have you taken out the spacer between the cartridge and its locater handle? Else just try taking the cartridge out and re-inserting. If this fails have you tried powering the printer off, waiting 20 secs, and truning back on.

Hop this helps.

Cannot get ink cartridges to stop at replacement Epson 300 series

Hi there,

If this is a new cartridge, open the front cover and remove all cartridges. Be sure the protective film has been removed from the cartridge prior to installation.

Inspect the contacts on the new cartridge for damage. Replace the cartridges in the correct place, close the front cover and power the printer down and then up again.

Hope this initial information and idea helps. Let me know for any clarification.

hi,

I have heard many stories pertaining to Epson printers, and a few stories with your problem and with this model too.

Unplug the printer, remove the cartridges, then make sure they are put back in and seated properly and turn on the printer. Hit up a nozzle and head clean on the printer cartridges, then try to use. If this does not work, it might be an issue relating directly to the ink you are using, Epson printers can get funny if you are not using genuine cartridges. If you do use compatibles, try changing the ones you are using.

Often or not, removing the cartridges when the unit is powered off, then starting unit and putting them back should resolve.

If the problem display is shown on your computer, simply uninstall the printer software and reboot your machine, then re-install software again.

Good luck, and i hopet his is the fixya for you. Also please do let me know the outcome of this matter.

Yours sincerely

Oz

How do I replace ink cartridge?

you can use the maintenance utility on your driver to perform ink cartridge replacement. or you can perform this method should you be using it stand alone:

Remove and Install Cartridges Be sure you have your replacement cartridges handy before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones. Caution:
Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.

1. Turn on the Epson Stylus NX400 Series. If a cartridge is low or expended, you see a message on the Epson Stylus NX400 Series LCD display screen. If a cartridge is expended, you must replace it to be able to print. If a cartridge is low, you can continue printing until the cartridge needs replacement.
If you’re replacing a cartridge before you see a message on the Epson Stylus NX400 Series
LCD display screen, press Setup, select Maintenance, and press OK. Then select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK.
follow on through each one of the inks and it should be good there on
