Question about Refrigerators
The freezer has a loud sound when the door is shut and when the door is open the sound stops. The temperature on the freezer keeps going down.
Hi, The noise you are hearing is the evaporator fan motor.
Remove the rear panel in the freezer section and see if ice or frost is building up and hitting the fan blade.
If there is frost, you have a defrost problem that can be tested while you have the panel off.

Turned off the fridge, emptied the Freezer, used a blow dryer for 20-30 minutes, to melt ice that had built up in vents at rear of freezer.
Cleaned the freezer and reloaded...no hum..at least for now.
