Question about Frigidaire GLEQ2152ES Electric Dryer

2 Answers

Torn clothes I too have had many clothing items being ruined by this dryer. Any item that has a strap, string or any kind of a cutout seem to get caught on the lint vent. I have written a letter to frigidaire hoping to get some kind of feedback. Any ideas on what to do? I do feel like I should not have to take any special prcautions on drying a tank top or underwear! Just real tired of this.....

There should have been a plastic gaurd on the lint catcher inside to keep this from happening, at anytime when taking your clothes out did you find something you might have though how did that get in there> could have been it, or look under the dryer and see if it made it's way out past the drum to the floor

Hi, If they are getting caught in front between the drum and front panel, try this. UNPLUG the dryer.
Put a flat blade screw drive in the gap between the top and front panel on each edge there is a spring clip.
lift the top and look down along the front of the tub and see if the front felt bearing has gone bad. When they go bad, the tub drops and things get caught. The front bearing on some models have three nylon glides the drum rides on. If these are gone replace the front bearing.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

My Frigidaire Affinity dryer keeps wrecking my clothes by breaking straps

In any front load machine, whether washer or dryer, the manufacturer will suggest to have the items with buttons or straps, or small items, put into a mesh bag. Now you can have a professional check to see if you have too much of a gap between the drum and the door itself.

We have had a consistent problem with our dryer. The lint filter eats any staps in the dryer. I have found straps from bras, tops, and belts twisted around the lint filter. They get caught on the edge...

check to see if exhaust vent is cloged with lint, both behind dryer and outside. this should give you more air flow.

Dryer thumps when running, clothes get stuck...

It always helps if you list the brand and model number in your post. I would look at the seam on the drum to see if the weld has cracked. (right at the front and / or rear of the seam.)

Narrow streak of what looks like grease on clothes from dryer

hi anne-
Your dryer may use rollers, or wheels, to support the rear of the clothes drum. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rollers wear out, you need to replace the whole set.
Rear seal Your dryer may have a felt-like seal at the rear of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, clothes can get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rear seal wears out, you need to replace it.

Clothes keep catching in front ring area

>>A repair man replaced the plastic ring but the gap is still there, ruining several items per load. Is it repairable or a fatal defect?<<

The repairman should check the drum rollers, the guides, and the baffles to be sure the dryer drum is rolling true (round). Also, the replaced ring should be re-checked to be sure it's installed correctly.

Torn clothes

If your clothes get marked or torn in your dryer, check these:

Rollers
Rear seal
Front glides
Front seal
Rollers Your dryer may use rollers, or wheels, to support the rear of the clothes drum.

Front glides Your dryer probably uses nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the glides wear out, you need to replace them as a set.

Front seal Many dryers have a felt-like seal at the front of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, the clothes in the dryer may get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the seal wears out, you need to replace it.
