yellow/blue wire is the wire from the unit to the parking break. If you use a switch. Yellow/blue wire must be grounded in order to use the unit. Yellow/blue wire will go to one side of switch and grond to other side of switch.

I cant watch video on the alpine iva d100

Sometimes they have a setting on video head units that only allows you to play video when the parking brake is on, try that and see if it works.

How do I watch videos in drive in 1996 cadillac deville

Nice car. I have a 96 Deville also and i'm installing the same radio in it in about 2 days. there are two options to bypassing the video lockout:you can either buy the PAC TR-7 bypass cable which costs around 20 bucks on sonicelectronix.com or you can wire the parking break wire to a toggle switch and ground a wire from the neg end of the toggle switch. The PAC controller is way more convenient because you dont have to flip the toggle switch 3 times everytime you get in the car.I hope this helped

Parking Brake

If it is a GMC Canyon, then the wire is light blue at the brake pedal harness. Be sure to test this wire before connecting as this wire will test 12V+ when the pedal is pushed in. The parking brake wire is also light blue and can be found at the parking brake switch. Peripheral electronics makes a box called a PTR-7 which can be connected to the alpine and serves the purpose of the brake connections for the video bypassing of the unit. Hope this helps.

you need 2 toggle switches . yello/blue wire to switch - switch to ground.
yellow/black wire to switch- switch to red ing. wire. turn this switch on and pulse the other(yellow, blue) 3 times and leave on, then turn the other switch off and then you can ride and watch dvd. just did it this morn. QTRHRS
