Question about Brother MFC 6490CW InkJet Printer

1 Answer

CD-ROM download install

EVERYTIME THAT I AM NEARING THE COMPLETION OF THE CD DOWNLOAD AN ERROR SCREEN CONTINUES TO COME UP INDICATING:\r\n
AN ERROR OCCURED DURING INSTALLATION
PLEASE RESTART YOUR PC, ENSURE ALL APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED
-THEN RE-INSTALL "MFL-PRO-SUITE"
ISO31 - CreateFaxRxDataFolder - 0
I have gone to the task manager and ensured that all applications are closed prior to re-inserting CD. I have even tried to close some of the processes (hoping it would help) in the task manager.
Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks,
Craig from Texas

If your system is giving you so much performance problem and you have fixed it now and then, it may be time to reformat the system.

To start, you must have the OS CD you want to run on your system. It may be the same as the one you are running or a newer version. I will advice you get the original CD of the OS this way you can be sure you are installing a complete and certified version of the OS. It will also be bootable. You should also have the copy of all the software you want to run on the system. You may also download the latest drivers for the OS before start the re-installation.

Before starting, move all your document and other important files to the D drive if you have more than one Drive on your system or to an external drive.

Put the OS CD on the CD-ROM and restart the system. As the system boots it will prompt you to press any key to boot from the CD-ROM. at this time press any key and the system will boot from the system. It will prompt you for upgrade or custom installation. Chose custom installation and you will be prompted to choose the drive to install into. Chose drive C and chose the delete option. (Note that this will wipe out all you have previously on this drive).

You will be returned to previous window (with drive and option to delete format etc) click continue and when prompted to format click continue. (Note: this will give you a clean installation without the files and error in the old installation).

After the formatting process the OS is temporarily load to the hard disk and the installation continues. Read very prompting properly before accepting any option provided. Follow the on screen guide and complete the installation. At the end of the installation you will be prompted to enter the computer name and password you can change the default suggested computer name and enter your preferred name. Then enter your desired password.

When you complete this process you have installed a new OS on your system. Update the driver on the system with the drive CD or the downloaded drivers.

Install other necessary software and your system is as good as new.

These errors may occur during installation: Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from...

If you have downloaded the package containing this cab file, turn off your firewall. Like wise turn off your anti virus software also for the time being. Download it again and then continue with installation. If the cab file is corrupted on the CD, you may need to find a new one. Hope this helps.

Ibm thinkpad A31 Windows unable to start normally. Message on blue screen indicating "unmountable_boot_volume". Also got "Kernal_data_inpage_error" message. Does this indicate hard drive failure??

No, this is a known error within Windows. Read more information on it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555302

But, if you are like me and don't like to read, just put your windows XP installation CD into the CD-ROM, boot up from the CD-ROM, DO NOT reinstall the operating system...just repair the installation and run "chkdsk /r".

Once that is done, restart the machine and it should boot up fine.

Brand new computer and i did not install the adobe it came with the computer Vista basic and i get the 1311 error message when i try to run adobe computer 1 day old !

no big problm if u comp is new r old...

When you try to install Adobe Acrobat 6, 7, 8, or 3D on Windows, the installer returns the error message "Error [1311, 1335 or 2350]. Source file not found: [drive name]:\ Adobe Acrobat [version]\data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." If you click Retry, the installer returns the error message "Cannot find the file Adobe Acrobat [version]\data1.cab."
Solution Perform one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Check the Acrobat CD-ROM.

Make sure that the CD-ROM from which you are installing is free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the CD-ROM with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Solution 2: Temporarily disable anti-virus software, and then install Acrobat.

For instructions, see the documentation for the anti-virus software or contact the manufacturer.
Solution 3: Extract the compressed installation files, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click the folder and choose Extract All.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. To install Acrobat, double-click the Setup.exe file located in the folder that contains the extracted files.
Solution 4: Uninstall the CD-ROM drive and let Windows redetect it, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives section.
  4. Right-click each device listed under DVD/CD-ROM drives and choose Uninstall. Click OK to confirm.
  5. Close Device Manager and restart the computer.
  6. After Windows redetects the DVD/CD-ROM drive(s), insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive and install Acrobat.
Solution 5: Install Acrobat from the desktop.

  1. Insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Copy the Acrobat folder from the Acrobat CD to the Desktop.
  3. Double-click setup.exe in the Acrobat folder on the Desktop, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Additional Information Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the Acrobat installer is unable to access the necessary files from the CD-ROM drive. These same errors may also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation or if the installation files are compressed.

thank u sir,, if u feel i helped u, then plz vote/rate me with good marks..thank u!!

Mac OS X (Native Mode)

  4. Double-click the MacOS X folder/icon.

If you will not be installing Toolbox at this time, skip to step 7.

    Double-click the CanoScan Toolbox folder/icon.
  6. Double-click the CanoScan Toolbox Installer icon. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

You can try this:
I am assuming you have a PC based sound system.

1. Remove your Creative Labs Home Theater from your PC. You should remove all hardware.
2. If you have Windows, go to "Control Panel"
3. Select "Add or Remove Programs"
4. Delete all Software releted to your Creative Labs System
5. Go to http://www.creative.com/language.asp?sDestUrl=/support/downloads
6. Download the appropriate driver for your system
7. Reinstall the system with the new driver

You could try your CD ROM after completely deleting the software from your PC, but I think I'd just try the downloaded version. The important thing is to completely remove all hardware and software before reinstalling.
