Question about Toyo -View 4x5 45CF Field Camera with 210mm f6.8 Geronar Lens 180113 Medium Format Camera

1 Answer

I don't know how to use my lens

I have the Toyo Field Camera with a Graphex 127mm lens (number-G42242; made by Wollensak for Graflex,Inc in Japan). I have no idea how to work it. I've tried in every way possible to **** the shutter and failed. Now my lens has two switches stuck and I don't know why they would do that... Does anyone have a manual?

Where would I find the serial number on a Tamron 90mm Canon macro lens?

all of my Tamron lenses have the serial number on the barrel of the lens right next to the "Made in Japan" label. When the lens is in the camera the MIJ label is on the bottom side. I hope that helps with your lens

Toyo 500mm lens to nikon d90 mount

At the risk of being obvious, you need a Nikon mount.

The lens comes with a T-mount. This is a "universal" mount with adapters for almost any camera mount, including the Nikon F mount. If the lens doesn't come with one, get a Nikon T-mount adapter.

The lens doesn't have any electronics, so you'll be shooting completely manual. No autofocus, no autoexposure, not even any exposure help from the camera's light meter.

Cant open Kalart 4x5 Camera

Kalart is the brand of the rangefinder not the camera. A speed graphic normally opens by pressing a concealed button located on the top of the camera middle front. Suggest you also check out the website Graflex.org for further info and shooting tips.

I hae a Canon AE-1. Holding the camera so that one if facing the lens: at the bottom right, at the 5:00 position, up against the lens assembly, is a black switch or button or whatever you want to call...

It's normally referred to as a depth of field preview. It's used to stop down the lens to whatever aperture you've set it to, so you can preview the depth of field to see how much of your scene will be in focus at any given aperture. It's not often used, but can be important in macro and portrait photography when a shallow depth of field and critical point of focus are both necessary.

Hi < I have have just aquired a5x4 toyo view C camera. the upright sections with the racks are worn, can I get spares for these or even a complete standard. Regards Jim

You can order parts for most Toyo cameras direct from Toyo. You'd have to contact them directly for pricing, and they'd either give you something there, or refer you to one of their dealers to handle it. They have a website, toyoview.com from which you can get contact information.

Focusing a mamiya k/l lens.how do i use the floating element ring? thank's

Step A. Set the floating element ring to its' infinity position (if you are using extension tubes, this will vary and you must set according to the tubes).
Step B. Focus the camera on your subject.
Step C. Look at the bellows scale on the camera body (it will generally range from 0-40) Important: Don't read the scale akin to the lens you are using. This will make perfect sense, when you examine the bellows. Mentally record this number.
Step D. Adjust the floating element ring to the recorded number.
Step E. Leave the ring on this new setting and re-focus the camera on your subject.
Step F. Make sure the dark slide is removed and capture your photograph. :)

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Right side Toyo 45E post guides

Chances are slim that you will find anyone with the parts. As a camera repairman, I would have never stocked those parts, trusting the distributor, in this case MAC group, to provide them when and if I ever needed them. I don't have a parts diagram for that camera to look at, so can't advise about the cost to "fabricate" the post guides, but short of finding a dead 45E to salvage from,it might be your only hope
